MORE MISSY

With the exception if the rally on Saturday I've been sticking close to home. That means Missy gets to pose. I can get 2 or 3 shots before she gets disgusted and walks out but she always comes back, LOL.

It is good practice for using light bounce at different angles and strengths.

These are from the Sony A-200 with either the SAL 75-300 or the old Minolta 70-210 f4 Beercan lens.

A good zoom lens is as handy indoors as out.

What a beautiful way to end my day.

I am petless now and likely will be, at least until some throw away finds me again. I really enjoy your pictures, whether the birds or Missy. They are such a welcome break from politics.

Beautiful pictures! Would come in handy on Viking Kitty threads.

Quite a handsome girl your Missy is. She knows she’s got the best room in the house (pic #3). Nice of her to share it with you ;D!

Goodness, her face is similar to my little Shadow, and her colors are just like my late Tiger. She’s perfect, and so are your photo skills.

thank you so much, SS!

Missy is going to get an agent soon if you’re not careful.

She’s beautiful. Looks like my mackerel-striped tomcat.

SWAMPSNIPER,
Did you run these through Photoshop (like for cropping?) or upload directly to Photobucket? The composition is excellent and follows the 'Rule of Thirds' to a tee.

And the exif data seems confusing to me. On Two of them it says 'no flash used' but on the 1st two pics I can see it reflected in Missy's eyes? Was it an 'off camera' bounce flash?

btw, I have 'a few' photos from my new Nikon D3000 (all on 'dummy mode' so far) but no place to upload them to as of yet. And no Photoshop, it all seems a bit pricey for my needs (I want another D3000 Body and a camera for the wife too). So any editing I'll be doing will be through the camera or the Nikon software that came with the camera)

SS, I’m jealous of your skills in photographing animals. I have a Nikon 35mm and belonged to a camera club for years, and I can see that you’d take top prize with your pix of Missy. Every hair on her face shows up individually and there’s no distracting light anywhere in the picture. That’s really hard to do. (And Missy’s a doll.)

Thanks for the ping. Lovely cat. I spent the weekend teaching my husband photoshop. He recently got his own Nikon digital SLR and so now we have dueling cameras and flickr pages. Oh, the trouble that will cause! :)

She's gorgeous! She does look as though she's "done with ya" in that last photo! LOL

She is always on alert for other cats trying to sneak into “her” room. I’m lucky she shares it with me!

I have 4 cats but one absolutely will NOT get along with any of the others. She resides in her own "suite".....the master bedroom. This has gone on for acouple of years as I have an 18 year old cat that just can't take being awaken out of a sound sleep by being smacked by an anti-social cat!

I thought I was the only one that had to do this.

You might want to look into GIMP (GNU Image Manipulation Program). While it was developed on Linux, I believe that there are Windows versions available, and there may even be a "Photoshop" work-alike front-end for the Windows version (I know there is for the Linux version). Did I mention that it's free?

At one time we had 9 cats, all different personalities and great fun to interact with them.

Suddenly one cat developed a true hatred for another (they had been buddies for years)and if we hadn’t separated them, one would have been killed.

We had to put one upstairs while the other had the run with the family. We would switch cats twice a day so each could be with us and the other cats.

Years later, when both had reached old age (and senility) we tried to see if they could get along.

With trepidation we opened the door and let the cats mingle.

They looked at each other with a dull expression like saying “for the life of me I know there is something I need to remember about you but I can’t”.

Peace was restored and they lived a long life. One 22 and 1/2 and the other 19.

The one who hated the most was so good in helping nurturing the kittens we brought into the family, very loving toward them.

We just picked up another cat this weekend. I was a vendor at a street festival and must have had "SUCKER" written on my forehead.

The booth right across from mine was a cat/kitten rescue operation. *SIGH* Right up front was a beautiful, long haired female. I stopped to just look at her and she poured on the charm. Rubbing, mewing, purring. . . I was lost and adopted her on the spot. Funny thing? Once she was adopted - she lay down in her crate and stopped "performing". Guess she knew she had a new "forever home". We named her Aubrey Puff after SF Giants player Aubrey Huff. :D
