according to her wishes
Wow. What a sad story.
RIP. What a sad story.
Number 1 killer of people under 65 - malignant neoplasm. Sad story.
I have to wonder if this young lady had anything in writing. If she didn't want a feeding tube, why would she have wanted breathing assistance? Seems bizarre to me.
Incredibly sad.
As I’m reading the article I’m thinking that if the docs can’t get to all of a brain tumor, thereby classifying it as ‘inoperable’, wouldn’t the better alternative be to go under the knife and let them try and get it all out?
I’m in no way criticizing this beautiful woman or her husband for her decision but if I was in that position I’d say my good-byes before the first surgery and tell them to get it all. If they get in there and have to slice something out that shouldn’t be touched in order to get it all out and I either die on the table or never come out of a coma afterwards, then the end result is the same, right?
Besides, maybe they’d learn something.
Its stories like this that are easier to take if you believe God has a plan for all of us.
May God & the Angels carry her always.
Viya con Dios.
There are no coincidences in life.
It’s stories like this that make it harder and harder to believe in God.
My wife died at 41. Young and beautiful still, in perfect health, except for a brain aneurysm that had gone undetected.
You know, that’s a very good point. It would seem one would pass away more quickly by removing breathing assistance than by lack of nutrition.
in my wife’s case, they removed the breathing tube (after medicating her), and things were over within a half hour. wonder why they would use the feeding tube approach which takes weeks?
nad it was her choice too. i miss her.
We do NOT know what SHE requested.....at 27, she probably thought it would be better to have the breathing tube than the feeding tube, for all we know...we should not second guess.
God bless you, FRiend. Lost mine at age 35 to breast cancer, so I know the road you walk.
My mother died of a glio blastoma multiforme. Mom’s tumor was inoperable, but they were testing the new gamma knife (it was late 1983) she lived six months and one day. My dad and I swore that the ‘one day’ extra was to prove the doctors wrong (they gave her less than 6 months from diagnosis). The gamma knife procedure released alot of the pressure; so mom had a couple of good weeks; then she went into a vegative state til she passed.
Brain cancer is about the worst type I can think of. It is just horrific.
Oh that is so terribly sad. My heart goes out to you. God Bless.
So sorry for your loss.
My gosh, how sad. You have my deep symapthy.
I am so sorry to hear of your losses. Prayers sent in your directions...news stories like this must be hard to encounter.
