With the exception of a couple of songs, Foreigner is a massive whipping.

Are you aware of all of the following Foreigner songs?

Double Vision

Head Games

Long, Long Way From Home

Blue Morning, Blue Day

Hot Blooded

Cold as Ice

Urgent

Dirty White Boy

Juke Box Hero

Feels Like the First Time

Yeah, but you know his “problem?” He doesn’t like rock. He has his jazz group. As a rocker, he definitely underplays.

Phil Keaggy is one of my favorites too.

Don’t forget Rod Stewart. Although his set may be the 50’s House Frou’s

Foreigner is another example of a band that started out pretty rocking, but then once they had that big soft-ballad hit, they were finished.

It’s probably because rock drumming bores him.

Don’t get me started on Styx, Dennis DeYoung had to be the wimpiest singer ever in the history of rock.

Yup. You can probably still buy the CD.... or LP.

Interesting: I ripped an old Cars LP a year ago. The audio quality was 10x better than anything I downloaded from Itunes. Even with the pops.

There is a HUGE difference.

But, 90% of the Itunes customers don't care.

The problem with iTunes is how scrubbed the music is. Everything is the same volume, vocals, keys, guitar, bass.

had the same problem with Badfinger re-released stuff. Sounded OK but not the same quality as the original. Thank God I have the vinyl. Now I just need to find a cheap way to get it to my computer.

Steve Perry is widely acclaimed to have one of the greatest voices in rock history.
Compared to Jim Morrison (and many, many others), Perry sounds like a feckin' girl.

Saw him in concert in San Fran. He did an amazing rendition of What A Day that I will never forget.

I definitely like the hard-rocking songs better. But the softer ones were pretty good too.

Thats because most of them weren’t raised on vinyl. They don’t know what they are missing.

Glee is just another tool of the Homosexual agenda to corrupt the minds of our youth.

I always HATED Journey back in high school. They were the enemy of all that was good in the world. Now I play one of their songs in my band. How could that have happened?

With the exception of "Long, Long Way From Home", I don't like Foreigner like I did when I was younger.

Sorry, that's just me...they're not my cup of tea anymore. If you still like 'em, that's ok.

Yep, compression and de-noising are pure evil but so many “modern” mastering engineers use it liberally.

On an upbeat note, the industry is slowly beginning to understand the damage these techniques have on the music - especially when re-mastering classic albums.
