Bush: 'Clinton and I are buddies' By: Patrick Gavin November 14, 2010 08:21 PM EST Updated: November 15, 2010 08:04 AM EST
Despite their political differences, the Bush family has really taken to Bill Clinton. (Clinton has worked with both the 41st and 43rd presidents on humanitarian efforts.)
And CNN's Candy Crowley, during her Sunday interview with George W. Bush and his brother, Jeb, had a little fun with the relationship.
"Your father, 41, has said that he looks at Bill Clinton like another son," said Crowley. "So who's been the better brother, Jeb or Bill?"
"I knew that was coming," said Jeb.
"You did? Why didn't you warn me, Jeb?" said George W. Bush.
"We're fond of Bill Clinton," Jeb said. "He's - I tell you, he's been incredibly gracious to our dad. And if somebody is gracious to our father - he ingratiates himself to us. And we are grateful to Bill Clinton."
"Who'da thunk it?" said Crowley. "That's a pretty bipartisan - I mean, would have going into - I mean, you know, you're out there restoring honor to the White House and ? "
"Listen, Clinton and I are buddies," the former president said. "First of all, we're born one month apart. We're now members of the former presidents club. We have done speaking engagements together. And I generally like him."

not for me known this for a long time. they are all puppets of people like soros
My respect for the Bush family just took a hit.
Clinton is trailer trash, with no disrepect to those who live in trailers.
Com’on, Dubya. Please don’t make yourself look silly.
Nobody is a buddy of Bill Clinton. Bill Clinton is Bill Clinton’s buddy.
Geesh.
Uh, Jeb. Do you remember any of the 1992 campaign? Remember Clinton's dirty tricks squad spreading rumors that your dad had an affair to reduce the impact of the Clinton affair stories? Remember the Clinton whisper campaign that suggested Bush Sr. was an incompetent pilot in WWII? This isn't evidence that the game is rigged. Its evidenced that liberal, Rockefeller Republicans like the Bushes are too stupid to realize they are getting used by the Dems.
This whole Bush re-hab tour is sickening.
Yes I applaud him for what he did after 9/11.
However, so many of his other actions were so bad that it can be argued that they equalled out any good he did.
Patrick Gavin = pot stirrer.
Political differences? Other than the fact that Clintoon spent a lot LESS of our hard earned money than Bush I didn't see all that many differences.
You needed that to lose respect for the Bush family. The Mom seems fine, but the boys.... Jeez.... Economy dead, Islamic Militants on the march, and Mexico invading the US. How is that Bush, Clinton, Obama change treating you....
You know the Bush’s have to be great people to like Bill Clinton after the way he and his campaign TRASHED George H W Bush in the 1992 campaign! It was DISGUSTING!
I suspect that this is a transcription error. The normal phrase is "I genuinely like him".
Frankly, I'm not thrilled by this, since I think Clinton should be shunned. But, I'm prepared to cut a little slack here in the name of gentlemanly behavior.
But if a Bush ever says nice things about Obama, then -- well, there's just no cause for that at all.
Are you saying the quote is false?
“Rockefeller Republicans like the Bushes are too stupid to realize they are getting used by the Dems”
It’s unplausible that people so stupid could reach the presidency.
burds of feather....
Bush already has. Obam has used Bush as a pinata for three years now and Bush has not done one thing to even remotely stick up for himself.
And spare me the but he is “classy” nonsense. Its not classy to be a putz and a whipping boy for a communist hack like Obama.
Rigged??? Perhaps.
Elitists sticking together, definitely.

"Life is like a box of ex-presidents..."
Bingo!
Does anyone doubt that Bush is a RINO (economic liberal, social conservative)? Both he and his father are globalists. That is, one-worlders.
Yes, the game is rigged.
They are a part of the global banking/investment conspiracy. Soros is just one of them. Take a look at the investment groups that Daddy Bush works for, even today. Same crowd as the Clintons, Gores, and the Obama trash.
“I will turn over the keys to the kingdom if you let my friends pilfer the system.”
Democrats and most Republicans agree to this philosophy.

are you sure of that????(ps there is no such word as unplausible)
“rigged game”
Nope, BC was the hired help of Bush “the elder”.
They knew that Bill would do anything for money. He was paid by “others” to allow things to happen on his turf in AR. Most of it centered from Mena. Iran Contra, but there were rumors of previous work that Bill performed.
The Mena things did happen, I was not involved but was in Mena many times and know the locals.
BC is/was/will be pure scum, but scum that can be purchased for any project.
I never thought Bush was a conservative. Both W and his father were elitists who worked with the Liberals in Washington to screw the American people. It is interesting that while the Bushes went out of there way to try to build consensus with the liberals they were so despised and viciously attacked by the Democrats.
By the way, have you ever heard the Clinton’s say nice things about Bush in public? They always attacked him.
If Bush had jumped on Crowley’s table waving a decapitated rooster and drinking from its neck, while shouting curses in Creole (or whatever) some people would still be disappointed.
What is the point of that video?
Right... It makes me mad because he back stabbed conservatives, and he is now trying to pretend he is about conservatism. Sorry Bush you sold us out. You certainly are no Ronald Reagan.
except with white folks
adopting the white trash by blow Bubba into a patrician clan of oligarchs
Can you see just see dinner at Kennebunkport, and Barbara Bush putting up with Bubba oogling her granddaughters?
Where do you get that he's a social conservative?
There are still some Bush Bots on Free Republic. It drives me crazy and think they do not recognize what conservatism is about. All they think is Republican good Democrat bad. Instead of Conservative good Lib/Socialist/Commie bad.
....what I’m saying is, anything thing for any bipartisanship in this particular time when RATS are on the rope. ANY connection to “working” together to seal America’s faith to years of debt and lost of freedom. You will see the word “bipartisan” more than ever before now that the American people have spoke up against the Dumbo agenda. It’s in the tank and rats want cover for the FU
No absolutely not.
“humanitarian efforts” key word in NWO agenda.
And with Soros way with philanthropy (buying power in secret) I say those of us who are looking at Palin better make damn sure she is not taking funds from that evil man.
Soros has already been linked financially to one of her top advisors.
“Do you guys need any more proof that this is all a rigged game?”
Nope.
LOL!
Eventually Bambi will be a member of the club...heck, for purposes of governing effectiveness, he already is. I can’t wait for Bambi and Moochelle to join Jimmy and Roslyn building house for Habitat for Humanity, maybe in Hyde Park, where Rahm Emanual owns an empty lot, so do Bambi and Moochelle
Oh, please. This is diplomat-speak. What do you expect them to say in public, “We despise the disgusting bastard”? People in public life always speak publicly about each other with the greatest warmth and respect. It’s necessary just in order to function socially and professionally.
Nope. Bill Clinton is ruling class, as well as a corrupt reprobate. The Bushes are ruling class. All on the same team, all selling us out.
Jorge El Bush and Willy Clington, pals...Birds of a (liberal) feather flock together.
bipartisanship = Dictatorships and the American people getting screwed by both parties
Gridlock = Checks and Balances
We don’t want bipartisanship. That what happens in countries with dictatorships. Have a great debate and vote. No matter how the vote ends up everyone is on record.
This is in the same category as saying “Bless his heart!”
It annoys the liberals and gives no further ammo for their Bush-bashing frenzy.
Realistically, it is the best answer he could give.
Honesty would be nice: "I disagree with him on the issues, and he's not my favorite guy personally. No offense, just not my cup of tea."
Diplomatic and honest.
‘Bill Clinton and I are buddies’
did you watch it? half way through Bush shakes hands with a Haitian then wipes his hand on Clinton's jacket.
It's like Orrin Hatch being best buds with Ted Kennedy. It was disgusting that Orrin gave Ted's eulogy.
It was the 2000 election recount that absolutely did it for me! Democrats **are** communists! I will NOT be friends with a Democrat. They are either too stupid or too evil to be a friend.
I don’t remember Bush fondly other than Roberts, Alito (Who was forced upon him), and the immediate aftermath of 9/11.
...and if anyone don’t see the rats attaching themselves to the dreaded Dubya for political gain and cover.....then their not paying attention. They need George W Bush for both pointing AND an example how to “WORK” together. Go figure.
I guess this is w playing “checkers” again?
sorry - I am sick of his games and want him to go away and stay there along with Clinton, and all the rest of these globalist shills for the international bankers.
See where the problem is.... Did you forget all the crap that Clinton got away with??? I understand what your saying, but calling someone like Clinton a friend.... no way. You can be respectful, but STRONGLY disagree. Calling him a friend is very disturbing.
If you read his book, Bush goes to great lengths to make the case to historians that he was really a “compassionate conservative” (i.e., a liberal) all along.
See his remarks on his relentless push for amnesty with Arlen Specter, his delight in working with Ted Kennedy on No Child Left Behind, his swelling pride in the prescription drug entitlement, the whole chapter he devotes to Aids in Africa, the defense of the TARP bailout of Wall Street.
The fact is, Bush set out to govern as a liberal president, but his domestic agenda was interrupted by the 9/11 attacks, something beyond his control. This is the guy who clutched a snake like David Frum to his chest.
Don’t be fooled.
Laura Bush was for gay marriage and abortion:

I did watch it but I missed that.
Well said...
Have any of the Bush haters on this thread yet read Decision Points? I seriously doubt it.
Read it and then come back and tell us what kind of man President Bush is.
Flame away!
I’m sick of George Bush prancing around these last two weeks giggling, smirking, laughing, etc.
He is one of the main reasons for Obama in the first place!
