Bristol Palin Eyeing Big Money Deals Post-'Dancing'

By Rob Shuter

Nov 29th 2010 03:03PM

Bristol Palin didn't technically win 'Dancing With the Stars' last week, but financially, the 20-year-old mom is paso doble-ing all the way to the bank.

"Bristol made over $345,000 from being on the show and currently is getting $35,000 for each speaking gig she does," an insider reveals to me. "Yet, all that is going to feel like pocket change if one or two of the big deals she's currently working on actually happens."

Palin family friends tell me there is a major deal in the works for Bristol to be the spokesperson for a middle American fashion brand, as well as a book deal and a multi-million offer to appear on another reality show.

I agree with you 100% but you are about to feel the wrath of the “Palin Can Do No Wrong” crowd here on FR. They are hypocrites and they are mean. But we are right.

I wrote last week that I thought Mama Palin had reached her peak....and I got jumped on.

Of course it's great to be family oriented and they really love their Alaska lifestyle but I'm with Barbara Bush...You're happy in Alaska...Stay there and enjoy your life and family.

I'm starting to get real tired of the Palins

Ditto. Maybe that is the intent. Who is going to want to vote for has-been TV personalities?

I hope success does not spoil a lovely young lady like Bristol.

It has happened so many times before. They all start out naive and starry-eyed...from Judy Garland right on down to Brittany Spears. Often, the ending is not pretty.

I’m sure that Sarah Palin has lawyers to give good advice about any show biz contracts entered into.

Hildy, if you’re anywhere near as old as I am, you’ll remember when the studios in Hollywood looked for nothing more than a beautiful face. Talent was secondary.

Not much has changed since then with regard to young women and their dreams of stardom. I hope that Bristol will avoid the casting couch.

She should take the money and raise her child and work on a career apart from being a Palin.

If her name was Bristol Smith instead of Bristol Palin she'd be a single mom in a double-wide trailer in Wasilla. Being a Palin is all she's qualified to do.

"The same can be said about the Bush twins. They have quietly gone about their lives without pimping their parent's name to make a living. "

That's true. The only reason I didn't mention them is because Jenna is a contributor to the Today Show. Is that "pimping her dad's name"? Maybe. But to your point, at least they both went to school, and apparently each did well while they were there. Barbara is kind of a pain in the ass (politically), but I understand she has become very involved with her cousin's charitable organization. So on balance, I think they both have earned some respect.

Get real, ODH. She's 20 years old (she's an adult, BTW), son has no father, and she's getting offers to appear on shows with the potential to earn millions - HELL YEAH she's going to take it! What, she should toil doing manual labor or workign a 9-5 in a crappy economy like this?

Chelsea ClintonHubbell has been "virtually invisible" because the lib media treated her with kid gloves unlike the smear job they did with Palin's kids. Bristol actually got her hands dirty and would have made it on her own if the haters would have left her Mom alone after the election. So comparing the upbringing between the two is disingenuous.

There is such a thing as overexposure.

Sarah Palin had better beware of this.

Wait until Todd gets on Texas Gambler. Or when Willow gets hers. Maybe they just haven't hit on the right reality show for you yet.

You guys are the haters & hypocrites, not us.

If the Left would have left Palin alone after the election, she and Bristol would be in relative obscurity.

They MADE Palin who she is today. I do not blame the Palins for cashing in on their fame. It's what America is all about.

Bristol Palin deserves to go out there and make every dime from the same entertainment and media establishment that has been hellbent on trying to destroy her Mom and her by extension.

So far, but she is only 20. What is your average 20 year old qualified to do?

At 20 I could shoot, hunt, fish, farm, and run a radar scope and be part of a combat crew. Not sure how much farming she has done, but apparently she can shoot hunt and fish. ;)

Rewarding people for doing nothing.

You assume that Bristol, coming from a family that values indepedence and hard work, would have amounted to nothing if her Mom wasn't famous?

You don't know what she would have done. But I assure you she wouldn't be broke or running in the streets.

Tacky, its getting tacky.

You and the others ignore the Wooly Mammoth in the room.

Don't hate the player, hate the game.

All the Left had to do was leave the Palins alone and there wouldn't be no Bristol dancing or Sarah contemplating a presidential run and sticking her nose into the issues and mid-terms.

But nooooo...the Left had to keep poking at that grizzly bear.

Very different than being reality show stars.

No, she’d be working Dairy queen supporting her out of wedlock child. I’m not saying there’s anything wrong with that.

Doesn’t change the fact that this has become opportunist and tacky.

Now what is Bristol going to put in a book? Huh? All the details of Levi and her vast sea of knowledge?

No thanks.
