I like the cut of your jib. I guess I am old and jaded. I too began watching politics in earnest during the X42 years. I have been on this site for longer than I can admit to, and have been disappointed many many times by the Republicans. Chief among them, Gingrich, Dole, McCain, Bush I & II, Sphincter, the entire House Republicans, the Senate Republicans during impeachment..et al. I cannot remember the name of the man chosen to push the case, but I do remember him being madder than heck over the weak testicles of our side.

I appreciate that, friend. I wouldn't feel optimistic and full of spit and vinegar, if I weren't seeing some tangible results in the politi-sphere. We're making headway. The path to success at this point, is to just keep putting one foot in front of the other.

I hear you. I think we've all been disappointed by those beltway Republicrats. But, take heart. We're in a new day, and a whole new breed of animal is headed to Washington.

Of course, we'll have to keep a sharp eye on them for any signs of 'beltway disease', but as I said before, the people are now engaged like never before, which is the prime factor in the sea change I mentioned. The new crew has to know that they'll be scrutinized like no other congressional reps before them. I think it'll make a huge difference in their performance.

Like others have said, we've probably got two more election cycles to go, before we can fully clean out the old guard, so our work isn't finished by any means. Even when we've achieved a lock on the Legislative and the Executive branches, we've still got the rot in the de facto Fourth Branch of government, the Administrative, to clean out. That's going to be a huge job.

In the meantime, we've made some great gains recently. We just need to keep pushing ahead.
