‘Don’t leave the barbecued meat on the side,
Take it and the rice along for the ride.
Don’t leave that chili sauce sitting on top.
Mix it down into your Bibimbop!”

Amy, that is a beautifully presented poem by Helen Steiner Rice. Thank you so much.

Pam, thank you for the link to God Bless America. Celine Dion did a beautiful job and it was wonderful to be able to read the historical quotes.

Happy New Year, PatriciaRuth.

I’ve made the changes to the military prayer. It is ready for the next posting.

Haven’t suffered any flu like symptoms.

"Talk about a second childhood!"

No better place to experience your second chidhood-or maybe "Splash Mountain"? I was there along time ago and it was so much fun! Just you all being together at Disneyland was so much fun, I'm expecting!! I can just see you all giggling, like school girls! What a memory!!! :)

Why Thank You!

Mr. kabong and I ran out of money in Honolulu. We just had $10 between us, and hadn’t eaten in four days.

We ended up in a little Korean joint on the waterfront, and asked the mama there what she could do for us for $10.00.

She bought out TROUGHS of Bibimbop, and we made up for the four days that we hadn’t eaten! LOL!

Yum!

No wonder you have such fond memories and such a fondnes
for that particular dish! I don’t suppose I’ve ever eaten
Korean food. Mr LUV was stationed in Korea and he didn’t have
many good things to say about it...especially the kimchee. LOL!

Bibimbop is actually “Glorified Leftovers”.

Kind of like “Mustgo Soup” as in :”Everything in the Fridge Must Go!” LOL

A mountain of Rice, with egg and BBQ meat on top, surrounded by pickles and fresh or marinated veggies of every description. A side dish of kimchee, and the mysterious atomic Korean Chile sauce. Mix it all up and eat with an oversized tablespoon!

It taste different than any other Asian Cuisine, whether Chinese, Japanese, Indian, Thai, or Vietnamese.

Korea is a cold and desolate place, so the emphasis is on HEARTY and FILLING! :-)

Cold and desolate.....just about the way my hubby described it.

No wonder they like very hot food there. Good way to keep warm. LOL!

We not only giggled but I've got pix I could do some serious black mailing...lol.

First of all, we had 2 suites right across the street from the place! Made it so convenient!

We bought some phony tattoos and were plastering them on ourselves for one whole evening. Most of the pix are a riot. Some women will show things you never expected..LOL.
