Andrew Luck staying at Stanford

By Ted Miller ESPN.com

Stanford quarterback Andrew Luck, the odds-on favorite to be the No. 1 pick in this spring's NFL draft, announced Thursday he will stay in school and play his redshirt junior season.

"I am committed to earning my degree in architectural design from Stanford University and am on track to accomplish this at the completion of the spring quarter of 2012," Luck said in a statement.

The school announced Luck wouldn't be made available for comment.

Well, for the first time in my life, I hope Dallas does a little worse next year than this year.

This is probably an indication that Harbaugh is using his NFL interviews as leverage to get a big raise at Stanford.

Why would Harbaugh want to go to the NFL when he can make a boatload of money at Stanford, get to recruit intelligent good-to-great players and have a pretty normal life that he and his family could never have in the NFL.

Who was the last college coach to leave for NFL as a head coach and really enjoyed it? It’s a very short list approaching no one. The 49ers is the only job he should be interested in and his interview with Miami is nothing more than a ploy to get more money from either Stanford or the 49ers.

No worries, with his design diploma, he’ll “build” his own career.

On another note: Hasselbeck will be playing..

I think it was the prospect of a lockout that probably was the determining factor in his decision.
