Who's got it and what do you think of it? What is there in the way of competition?

For $9 a month you get all the streaming video you can handle.

If you have a broadband connection, there is no better value.

We used to have the 3-DVD at a time plan, but dropped down to 1 DVD. We don't even watch it most the time. Just the streaming.

Go on their site and look at how many streaming videos they have.

We're watching Bonnie and Clyde right now.

I love the service, but have two complaints;

1) You are not allowed to watch the streaming movies when overseas and I travel internationally frequently.

The online content is somewhat limited.

I believe they said the same things about Amazon.

Good-a lot of movies you can get by mail, especially if you actually watch them when they come in. You can ave two vids a week if u watch them right away

Ok- can download to your widescreen , quality is good but variety is only ok but u can find gems

Bad- normal people tend to let vids sit on kitchen counters for weeks at a time

What I am ordering you to do- get a one disc at a time subscription and then play it ny ear, or eye, in this case

Well, my kids are probably unusual, but the tv hadn’t even been on for a month or two before I dumped the cable tv. They are watching classic old tv shows, Dr. Who, and historical documentaries.

It is fantastic. I’ve gotten rid of cable television and watch almost everything over streaming. You can port it over your tv using most any video game console and several different models of blu ray player. Turn around is great and I can get up to six movies a week through the mail. Although I hardly ever bother with the mailers anymore as there is so much online content.

The only competition I can see . . . is now that they offer the steaming only package for something like 8 bucks a month . . . would be from people like me downgrading their accounts and using Redbox when they absolutely had to see a brand new release.

I highly recommend the service.

My wife subscribed us. We don't go out much to the movies. It is the best thing since sliced bread but I don't know about competition.
My wife gets the DVD’s in the mail and has a cue that as soon as she sends one back she gets the next. She can alter her cue on the computer at any time.
I like the streaming video that I can watch in my office in a second. Westerns, war movies, classics, they are great for taking a break from work. If I don't watch a movie all the way through the next time I log on it will ask if I want to resume. It will in a second and I can pick up right where I left off.

All in all I would recommend it highly.

I blew off Blockbuster several years ago because they didn't offer Blu-Ray disc. Netflix did and I have not looked back. I just scaled back to two disc's at a time from three because they raised the price. I'll leave one of the disc's sitting next to my TV for 6 weeks before I watch it.Come to think of it that isn't very smart on my part, but I get distracted by this damn internet and Call Of Duty every damn night!!!

I've had Shutter Island sitting there for about a month now...should i watch it?

I’m not interested in DVDs. Internet streaming only. I have two of those “redbox” DVD rental/vending machines within walking distance of my house for only a buck/movie/night. So subscribing to netflix for DVDs just wouldn’t be worth it in my opinion.

I have it and love it. My favorite thing to do is watch documentaries and movies on my kids X-Box while they are at school. ( I work the night shift at times)

My wife likes the quick turn around via the mail, plus she also watches streaming movies on her lap top sometimes.

It’s definately easier then going to a box store to rent.

Partly because of Netflix, partly do to Hulu, and partly do to increasing cable bills, we are canceling our cable TV subscription. The cable company wasn’t real happy about it and they tried real hard to keep us, but it just isn’t worth it. I can get my local channels with an antenna and everything else I can get on the interwebs.

I hate the bastard’s endless spam and their intrusive pop-unders ads but finally beat them. Will never give them a freakin’ dime ever. But that’s just me.

Also Netflix provides a great app for iPhone and iPad that will let you stream over one of those devices. I haven’t tried it on my iPad yet, but it works great over the iPhone and even when limited by using the cell data net. There is no similar app for Android yet, but I believe one is not far off.

I think it’s great. Had it several years. I was astonished at the speed with which the dvd’s were delivered, because at the time I lived way out in the desert.

Got uit, love it, would not have enjoyed my video time for tyhe last couple of months without it. With all the holiday glut of programming, and most all regular shows on hiatus til the week after next, I have been relying heavily on my Netflix “watch Anytime” cue of movies and shows. I have started a pattern of getting DVDs in the non snow months, and only watching streaming content until the winter breaks. The ‘Watch instantly’ content is a subset of their full content, but it’s quite impressive in it’s amount...and it’s been growing.

I’ve had my disappointments with Netflix before they began their ‘Watch Instantly service, but now I am a very happy customer.

There is some content I will have to wait for spring to see, but even their new Online only $7 offer is something I could live with.

I hate praising it this much, as they’ve already bumped my monthly fee a dollar...But if they keep adding “new” content to their streaming library, I;l still be happy with them and their service.

The more I can watch online, the happier I am going to be.

Good service for both the by mail DVD's and streaming.

Make sure you have a high speed router if you use a wireless connection for streaming. If not, it will spend a lot of time rebuffering.

I have NETFLIX and I absolutely love it!

I am a documentary hound and I’ve found SO MUCH to love, learn/watch—either by instant play or mail videos.

I’ve had a couple of busted discs over the last couple of years but they shoot out a replacement amazingly fast!

I would say they do customer service in a way that has passed most business by—as old fashioned— they satisfy, satisfy, satisfy!

They are starting to jack prices up and we’ve had to step back from our top-account choice but until we are priced out... I say it’s an AWESOME value for the dollar.

I've had Netflix for several years and am very satisfied with the service. I was live streaming via Netflix, using a Wii console, until my youngest son wanted it back. My oldest son took pity on his old mother, and bought me a Roku Digital Video Player for Christmas. It allows me to live stream Netflix via ethernet or wireless. I'm watching an episode of Sherlock Holmes (with Jeremy Brett) on my TV as I write. The Roku comes with a remote. The box I have cost about $100 on Amazon, and came with a free month of Hulu Plus. Roku has several other live streaming channels available through their channel store. Many are free, while others require a monthly or yearly fee to subscribe. The Roku is small, measuring only 5 x 5 inches, so it's portable. I'm extremely pleased with it. Here's the link to their website if you're interested:

I think he’s upset because some content providers are grumbling about the fact that Netflix is more profitably marketing their content than they are.
