I’m not really caring for Rush’s take on it. He’s not up to speed on the facts, and he’s warning it could all be a head fake. I don’t believe that for one nano second.

"It would be administered by the very same folks who currently send out all those social security checks!"

ROFLMAO...that's not exactly what I'd call a ringing endorsement. Of course if you and your good buddy Boortz are willing to vouch for the efficiency and corruption-free nature of the SSA, I guess I should just shut up and accept it (not).

“He was NOT eligible to be a British Citizen.”

Then how come he was until he was 23, according to him?

But I used an actual argument.

(And it was really an attack on Boortz.)

That's the point. Arthur tried to hide the fact that his father was a naturalized citizen after he [VP Arthur] was born. A natural born citizen under the Constitution's requirement to be President or VP is different from being a citizen.

Obama's reputed father was never a US citizen. At the very least, Obama's eligibility should be challenged and brought to SCOTUS, since the courts have never ruled on exactly what constitutes a "natural born citizen" under the Constitution as it pertains to the Presidency.

"No Person except a natural born Citizen, or a Citizen of the United States, at the time of the Adoption of this Constitution, shall be eligible to the Office of President; neither shall any Person be eligible to that Office who shall not have attained to the Age of thirty five Years, and been fourteen Years a Resident within the United States."

Nope! Not at all but no new agency is created by the Fairtax as you seem to believe!

Not ONE!

No you didn’t! You used an emotional appeal based on NOTHING other than your feelings! Not one FACT was presented!

OK then, I stand corrected...we'd just have to increase the size of existing agencies. I guess that makes a difference in Boortz-math.

Boortz math:

IRS GONE vs a few new printers and a few additional personnel to operate them at the SSA seems like a winner to me!

Does the fair tax hit one's savings (that have already been income taxed) with a huge % again when the are spent?

Sounds like a fact to me.

What YOU don’t get is that the very same thing is happening when you spend your savings today under the income tax!

The fact that you can’t see it does not change the fact that it is happening!

"IRS GONE vs a few new printers and a few additional personnel to operate them at the SSA seems like a winner to me!"

Plus a new postal personnel to process and deliver the volume of checks going out, plus a new criminal investigators to follow up on fraudulent applications, plus a new postal inspectors, etc. Of course all of these will entail new leads, supervisors, administrators, etc.

Totally false, especially when I spend in a no sales tax state.

Remember we are talking about saved money carried over through the transition from a time of an income tax to the time of the(un)fair (for already taxed savings carried over) tax.

As far as I know, you don’t have to be a natural born citizen to be a US Senator or any other office. The BC would not be needed.

If they will disregard the constitution on something so straight forward and basic, then what else will they be willing to do?

We are not far removed from what happened in countries all around the world when government takes total control and then looks for "final" solutions to problems.

Paladin:
And, it’s still better than the mess we have right now.

I’m nearing retirement, myself, and the ranting about the double tax on seniors is an issue that can be addressed as part of the implementation of the Fair Tax model. It should not be a deal killer (can we still say that?).

Thanks, I assumed that one needed to show their original BC for a passport, since that is what they asked of me.

Thanks, I always avoided the BC threads because I didn’t get in at the beginning, and was way too far behind to catch up.

Maybe I should study up!
