First I’d fire Paul Krugman.

Then I’d work on the budget.

A tip: start the process from the bottom up. The easy eliminators are at the bottom.

Tip 2: Select "Cap Medicare growth starting in 2013" and watch the incredible impact on the graphs.

I don’t see any of the measures I would start with.

Axe the Department of Education.

Axe the Department of Energy.

Axe the EPA.

Axe most foreign aid.

Axe the NPR subsidy.

And so forth.

Oh. Leave the UN and axe all money for the UN. And give them a deadline to leave the country.

Close the paper, sell off all the assets, get a table at Starbucks where the Crossword editor can work.

Become profitable, vote Conservative.

Oh, they mean the government?

Budget balanced. 85 percent spending cuts.

15 percent tax increases (Bowles-Simpson) + Reducing Mortgage deductions.

Cuts to everything, including Military to 30k, and non-military compensation.

Budget balanced. 11 billion up in 5 years and 300 billion billions up in 2050.

That was easy. I cut 3/4ths of the 2015 deficit, and created a $100M surplus by 2030 without touching defense spending.

Now we can get busy and cut out whole departments, an option they didn’t give us.

Plus, we could pass pro-growth tax cuts that always yield more revenue through growth than they give up due to lower rates.

Heck, I’ll give you a $1T surplus by 2030 if you just leave it to me alone.

I had 96% spending cuts. Beat that!

Where in the Constitution does it say “provide for the common medical care”; I can’t seem to find it?

after I finish their model, and add the additional cuts that make sense (why just limit foreign aid to a 50% cut?) I could LOWER TAXES AND HAVE A BUDGET SURPLUS

I got a good chunk of it, but the problem is that it didn’t have any proposals for eliminating rogue departments like EPA, NEA, and OSHA. Plus, there was no means to increase the minimum tax to 10% and eliminate the “earned” income tax credit so that the freeloaders that make up the base of the democrat party would have some skin in the game.

This train wreck started with the creation of America’s central bank in 1913. No amount of navel gazing at this very late day can stop events put into motion in 1913. Bank on it.

The way to fix the budget is to throw it out, and start from scratch.

Zero-Baseline budgeting is a proven method for keeping costs under control. When you start with NO programs, it’s a lot easier to simply NOT implement a program. If you start with the last year’s budget as baseline, you have already committed to funding those programs — and cutting programs is much harder than simply not thinking about them.

There was NO mention of cutting entire cabinet level money sinks.

The Department of Education has been and continues to be a failure. I make this statement based on the Department's Congressional mandated goals. It has been around long enough to demonstrate that it has no hope of ever being a success. Time to disband and unfund.

Foreign aid needs to be cut by 90%. there is no need to bribe foreign governments to by our friends. If they want to join us fine but we should not pay their way. This goes double for nations in Latin America, Africa, and the Muslim world. If you take our money support us; if you don't support us then no money honey. Most children learn this by the sixth grade.

Give Congress 182 days to accomplish everything then they are CLOSED. When they are in session they live in hotels. When they aren't in session they and all of their staff members return to the districts/states that the Congress Critters represent. Our founding fathers were extremely smart when they didn't allow Washington DC any “rights” for government produces nothing but problems. We need to enforce that learned judgment.

Liberals are stupid. They are entirely short sighted. There was nothing there about cutting Social Security all together for younger generations, or Medicare , etc. They only see growth of all programs but deep cutting in defense spending and increasing taxes on the rich. That entire New York Slimes poll was all about just that.
