This morning suddenly discovered that I was being ordered by Youtube to create a Google account so that I may be able to login to Youtube . I know Google owns Youtube , but until this morning I have not had a problem . Folks who already have a Google account can easill link up . I don't want a Google account , but it looks like I have no choice . True ?

I had the same problem when I signed into my youtube account a few days ago............

Note: Your old YouTube password will no longer work. You need to use your Google Account password from now on.

A message from Google:

“There is nothing wrong with your internet. Do not attempt to adjust the picture. We are now controlling the transmission. We control the horizontal and the vertical. We can deluge you with a thousand channels or expand one single image to crystal clarity and beyond. We can shape your vision to anything our imagination can conceive. For the rest of your life we will control all that you see and hear.”

No. I set up a gmail, associated my existing youtube to that and everything was fine. Same favorites, uploaded vids, etc. And they give you the opportunity to change it to another email later if you want. I was nervous too. I have a video with 350,000 + hits that makes me money!

For the same reason Verizon's iPhone4 requires you to open an iTunes account w/credit card before you can activate the phone.

$$$$$

Exactly. You don’t need an account to watch and there are other places to post videos.

If you watch hockey with a Canadian broadcast team it’ll make sense.

I can’t watch videos either . They ask me to log in using a Google account .

I can’t even watch videos others post to other sites like Facebook .

Personally, I think Google has over reached their grasp of society and personal privacy so far that we should be very afraid of what they are doing and what they will do with all that information they collect

Personally, I avoid using any form of Google services. I even have gone to another map search to accomplish that.

Ever notice those adds along the side of your emails and even other sites that suddenly offer services related directly to a site you visited in the past day or so. It is no coincidence.

You will start getting email with first names of friends and family that you write and those email vaguely refer you to a new product or service you have no desire to use. It comes from the data that Google collects from your emails and visits to their sites and other associated sites.

They compile it, and immediately turn it against you.
