The Oscars suck.

I think we’re done here.

The Oscars feature pretty girls in strange costumes. Just turn off the sound and watch.

At least they are having Ann Hathaway and James Franco be in charge this year.

Academy Awards are an event where the self-important get together, telling the world how important they all are.

Mrs. OLA and I will keep up our perfect streak of never watching this AA dope fest.

You make an important point. This particular AA ceremony is likely to be a Union slobberfest.

How many A-listers will turn up in Union clothes (or orange-clothing) to ‘make a statement’?

Hmmm... I went to the movies once in 2010. Don’t remember what I saw, the movie was that good.

I have never watched the Oscars.

I don’t have a clue as to today’s top movie stars.

My favorite movie is “The Best Years of Our Lives” which, I think, won an Oscar or two.

Deservedly.

Yeah, count me as one of “The Oscars Suck” crowd.

I cant really say I hate the Oscar's as much as I just don't give a rats a$$ about them. If not for this thread I would not know it was tonight... thought it was last week and somebody called Gaga arrived in a big plastic turd.

Only two times I’ve watched was when a friend named John Dykstra won the Oscar for Star Wars (I worked on the film with him) and when Braveheart was nominated.

Haven`t watched the Oscars for decades. It`s a pointless, extravagant display of self-congratulation and mindless, rambling political grandstanding.

Hollywood and its celebrities mean nothing to me. They aren`t worthy of my time.

“A friend named John Dykstra won...”

That, to me is the interesting stuff... the folks behind the scenes who pull it all together. They`re far more deserving than the prancing prima donnas who get all the accolades.

Celebrity culture. An oxymoron? - Anemic women with their very expensive dresses and jewelry wearing THEM instead of the other way around. - As for movie theaters, someone commented that they didn’t go any more because of the bedbug problem. Now, I don’t know if that’s true or not. - I think I won’t be watching the Oscars and the “beautiful people” either. I quit watching the beauty pageants a long time ago, and haven’t seen much of the Oscars. I’m old and gratefully out of the loop on the Oscars.
