Obama's Libyan Authority

The Obama administration, however, has not suggested anything so ambitious. The stated goal is to enforce a U.N. Security Council approved “no-fly zone” as a means of limiting Gaddafi’s ability to attack his citizens. The United States has a right and an obligation as a U.N. member assisting in the implementation of a binding Security Council resolution to take this action — and it is not of a character that would constitutionally require Congress’s approval. If the president later concludes that Gaddafi should be removed by American arms — no small matter given the nation’s other military commitments in Afghanistan and Iraq — then congressional approval can and should be sought.

Perhaps someone should inform the author that there would have been no Security Council resolution had the US not allowed its approval. Russia, India, and Brazil did not vote for this idiocy but allowed us to jump right in the Briar Patch.

How is this different from Bush going into Iraq based on a UN resolution?

No WMDs.

Check

Did not invade neighbor.

Check.

Did not violate unconditional surrender.

Check

Did not try to shoot down our planes.

Check.

Gave up their nuclear pursuits.

Check

I'm rooting for Gaddafi.

He isn’t going to, never, never. The Rat bastard.

This Libya thing is only smoke and mirrors, part of a larger show...

That guy called the president? He aint an American, culturally, philosophically, religiously, politically... so what should we expect?

Over 20 years of Wright / Farrakhan understudy takes us right to the MB, the same guys who have already taken over Egypt.

Which is another good reason very supportive of #61 @ http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/2696128/posts

This whole ME domino uprising is being orchestrated , choreographed and militarily supported by America! Driven from the White House.

Go look at 61, author is Munz, its a great summary

Think Caliphate

Coming to a state near you soon!

“How is this different from Bush going into Iraq based on a UN resolution?”

1. Bush had a congressional resolution authorizing the war;

2. In 2003, we had been in a state of war with Iraq continuously since 1991. US was bombing and Iraq was trying to shoot down our planes.

3. The UN did not pass a resolution authorizing the 2003 war, if I remember correctly.

But other than that, they are no different.

The article indicates it was a “binding resolution” by the UN Security Council. ...If so, then why was Germany permitted to pull back and not participate?
