Thank you, Meg; love the doggies in the bluebonnets!

About the wildfires in Texas - my husband said this morning that he heard on the news that Texas is having the worst drought since 1917! We have had grass fires in the fields and area around us for a few weeks now. Fortunately, though one time we could actually see the flames, the wind was blowing the fire in a direction away from us.

We have wind, wind, wind and high temperatures and single digit humidity. No rain in 8 months. :(

Thank you!
We were blessed with half inch of rain this month...It helped..but not nearly what we need.
I am so glad you escaped being damaged...Pray you continue to avoid the flames at your place.

The winds really blow here, too..We have a severe thunderstorm watch but the radar shows that line just missing us..I am just grateful some are getting rain!

I am so glad that the winds...even though they drive us
nuts...have been in your favor at this time. Just watching
the big plume of smoke from the Andrews fire last night was
chilling. Glad they got it put out. The first responders must
be worn out from all these huge area fires.

Knowing God’s Will
April 20, 2011

A young man facing the future and unsure of what the next year would bring, concluded, “Nobody knows what God’s will is.” Is he right? Does a lack of certainty about the future translate into not knowing God’s will?

The concept of knowing God’s will is often limited to discerning what specific situation we will be in at some future time. Although seeking God’s specific leading is part of it, another aspect that is just as vital is to follow the clearly defined elements of God’s will each and every day.

For instance, it is God’s will for us to be good citizens as a challenge to those opposed to Christ (1 Peter 2:15), to give God thanks no matter what (1 Thess. 5:18), to be sanctified sexually, avoiding immorality (1 Thess. 4:3), to live under the Holy Spirit’s control (Eph. 5:18), to sing to Him (v.19), and to submit to other believers (v.21).

As we submit to God in these and other areas, we are more likely to live in what Romans 12:2 calls God’s “good and acceptable and perfect will.” Living with God’s smile of approval leads to His guidance for the future.

As we seek to know God’s will for the future, we must also act on what we already know now.

Knowing God’s will for the future
Comes when we follow today
What He’s revealed in the Scriptures
As His commands to obey. —Sper

Love and obey the Lord every day, and He will unfold your future.

Read: Ephesians 5:17-21

. . . that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God. —Romans 12:2
Bible in a year:
2 Samuel 9-11; Luke 15:11-32

OK, your table is by the window, and the coffee is hot, the rolls are just out of the oven and the Crab is to die for!

The scene is so quiet, so peaceful, I keep it over my desk as a reminder that the pace of the world can slow to something wonderful in special places.

Nan and I are planning to move out of Minnesota (Manytaxasota) soon, and are looking at Sioux Falls, (No state income tax, and jobs moving in to get benefit of the reduced corporate tax structure. Maybe one day we can get together and I’ll cook up a meal for all of you yet!

Texas has it rough, between the border problems and the fires, it might be more useful to throw politicians in front of the fire and see if they can slow the fire as well as they slow the enforcements of laws!

Actually, best pray for rain, politicians not withstanding, rain may be the saving grace for them.

People that work ... and people that do not work ... (Of course there are exceptions) ... Much of the world is desperate for the basics of freedom from slavery, freedom of choice, and freedom from tyranny.

In American we have the good life available to those willing to work for it. Early day farmers did it all. raised sons and daughters to help them make a life. Hard work, everyday. Truly on their own 99% of the time. With the help of God and faith.

We have weakened our system by ‘indenturing’ many people to the welfare system, so they feel no need to do anything other than wait for the check in the mail and government commodities given our regularly; taken and then traded in some cases for smokes, or alcoholic drinks. We made programs (California) for training the immigrants of later times to have a means of work. .. Mostly they fail, due to corruption, and mismanagement. A few take hold and use the opportunity. The ones that do are almost spectacular in their success in their community.

How do we remedy this sorry state of affairs? Require some community service and work for all able bodied receiving welfare checks. Child care, office filing, cleaning, other basic tasks in schools, hospitals, prisons, communities, etc. Let us Add to their sense of self worth instead of taking it away. MO

May we give thanksgiving for the Holy Spirit, the Father sent to be with us. We are blessed daily in myriad ways by the blessings of god. We are to be light and salt, we are to love the LORD with all our heart, all our soul, with all or mind and with all our strength and our neighbor as our self. Father we bow before thee in adoration and worship.

Rejoice in the LORD!

This does not leave room for anything else, does it?

Because We Believe
Lyrics
Words and Music by Jamie Harvill and Nancy Gordon
Arranged by Jay Rouse

We believe in God the Father.
We believe in Christ the Son.
We believe in the Holy Spirit.
We are the Church and we stand as one.
We believe in the Holy Bible.
We believe in the virgin birth.
We believe in the resurrection.
Christ one day will return to earth.

Holy, holy, holy is our God.
Worthy, worthy, worthy is our King!
All glory and honor are His to receive;
To Jesus we sing, because we believe.

We believe in the blood of Jesus.
We believe in eternal life.
We believe in the blood that frees us
To become the Bride of Christ.

Holy, holy, holy is our God.
Worthy, worthy, worthy is our King!
All glory and honor are His to receive;
To Jesus we sing, because we believe.

Holy, holy, holy is our God.
Worthy, worthy, worthy is our King!
Holy, holy, holy is our God.
Worthy, worthy, worthy is our King!
All glory and honor are His to receive;
To Jesus we sing, because we believe.

Holy, holy, holy is our God.
Worthy, worthy, worthy is our King!

Happy Warm Fuzzy Wednesday, FRiends.

This week has been and will continue to be very busy and very stressful.

Marissa has a report on Hawaii that is due on Tuesday.
I have been proofing it and making suggestions as I type it for her.
She thinks she is finished ... wait until she sees all that I want her to change or add.

Also, my friend from 8th grade passed away last Friday.
She has been a part of my life for 61 years. I will miss her.
Her funeral is tomorrow so I may not be here to open the doors.

Thank you all for your many contributions to Amy's Place.
I appreciate you.

I'm adding my prayers to the all the prayers being offered for those affected by the fires in Texas.
I will continue to pray for rain.

Have a beautiful day.

I bet you are a good cook, Johnn! When is your and Nan’s move to Minnesota going to be?

It would be wonderful if a lot of us who have become good friends on Amy’s Place, could get together. We all live so far apart that I don’t see that happening but who knows?

I bet Minnesota would be a good place to live! I hope so and hope you two will be happy there! Good Luck on your new journey!!

I’m sorry Johnn, that I misread your post. I was thinking you said “moving out to Minnesota” instead of “moving out of Minnesota”. By the way, I wasn’t positive where you did live.

Sioux Falls sounds good with no state income tax and the jobs moving in to get the reduced corporate tax structure. Maybe you can find a good job there!

Its funny how we read something and get one word out of place and get it all wrong. NOW I KNOW FOR SURE! LOL! Thanks!
