The big news of the day is the death and burial at sea of Osama bin Laden. Thank you, President Bush and the US military (including my son and future son-in-law) who made this day happen. Other news is the nuptials of William and Catherine in Great Britain. May God bless their union and draw them close to Him in Jesus Christ. Alabama (my state) and other southeast states continue the task of digging out and rebuilding. A massive effort is underway with able bodies and supplies needed.

Hi, B4. Still celebrating here, but considering how it will affect our troops as well. We have someone departing for Afghanistan later this month.

Was her death sudden or had she been ill? I still think of my mother every day of my life.
I truly hope to see people posting again. It is the camaraderie that I miss when changes occur.

Jem, I’m so glad you “resurrected” ATRW. I really missed it. It just doesn’t feel the same at the other location.
We had plenty of wind and more than plenty of rain, but only a very small part of the city was affected by the tornadoes. Surprisingly, a couple of businesses by the river!
We have had lots of downtime on our electricity and telephone lines, but things are getting better every day.
Yesterday, in our cycle of prayer, we prayed for Papua and so you have been in my thoughts every since. I was glad to find you here today!

Hi johnny, We’re knee deep in radishes, the beets are about ready to pull, the squash have flowers, the beans are growing like gang busters, as is the watermelon, don’t have any cukes yet, but will soon.

I think he was buried within 24 hours of death according to arabic/islamic belief, he was buried at sea so his grave on land could not be used as a shrine, or for those he’d hurt as revenge. Our troops did take pictures of him, in death, for official purposes. They also got a whole bunch of information from his computers, which is now being looked into and studied. Thank goodness for that little courier’s comings and goings.
The Mississippi has crested in Iowa and the high water has moved downstream.

Do you have any idea what kind of genetics you're working with?
Most of the pork leaving our farm today walks up the loading shoot weighing around 300# each. One would be almost more trouble than what it is worth.
But free was free, and one bag of corn plus scraps from 3 neighbors makes for fairly cheap feed. I do grind the corn and make her hot water corn cakes that she loves.
On the positive side, I move her cage around the yard and she's wiping out grubs in the yard and leaving well plowed and fertilized little garden plots. ;)
