SEATTLE - Nick Risinger has always gazed up at the sky.
But last year the amateur astronomer and photographer quit his day job as a Seattle marketing director and lugged six synchronized cameras about 60,000 miles to capture an image of the entire night sky.
Risinger, 28, set up his rack of cameras in high-elevation locales in the Western U.S. and South Africa, timing photo shoots around new moons.

How come my back yard sky never looks like this!!!!!! I was lucky enough to see some of it - as he noted the main problem is the light pollution around humanity.
Out on deck of an aircraft carrier under lights-out in the middle of the Pacific, and you can really see the star glow shadows.

I’d also expect that his exposure rate is greater than what your eyes can handle.
Even in the desert in Iraq I never saw the sky look like that.
