I explained to my boys when they were small that Superman isn’t brave because there is very little likelihood that he can be harmed.

Actually I think it looks pretty good. An update, but not a total departure from the classic Superman uniform. The red underwear on the outside of his pants really had to go.
Sure, nothing that isn’t made of Kryptonite can pierce his skin, but haven’t you ever wondered how his costume survives walking through fire, hail of bullets, etc. ? Maybe he needs armored boots so he doesn’t have to replace them constantly.
