In the past few years I have been hiring out of work IT’s.
Some are ok and some do pretty good. Most will never be
craftsmen and some have a hard time reading a tape measure.
High education helps but is not necessary for a person to
be intelligent and make good decisions. In fact in most
cases higher education is pursued to cover or overcome
the lack of intelligence and the ability to make good
decisions. Lets face it. No matter how many years you go
to collage, sometimes you just can’t fix stupid.

Study: CA Lawmakers Are Nation’s Most Educated

The irrationality of the self-described "intellectuals" and left-leaning "education." The Bible predicted this 2000 years ago: "Professing themselves to be wise, they became as fools." Rom 1:22.

The results speak for themselves. When Reagan left the CA governorship in 1976, CA's financial status was equal to the eight wealthiest country in the world. Now and for quite awhile, under these highly "educated types," CA had been continually close to receivership.

This "intellectual elite" irrationality is obviously transferable and is entrenched in Washington D.C where they have gone into multi-trillion dollar debt having no idea where the spent trillions went.

A college degree does not confer common sense.

Nor applicable intelligence. MOST degrees only demonstrate the ability to replicate data back to the "teacher" on paper. Unfortunately, this has nothing to do with "learning" nor "intelligence." It is memorizing AKA indoctrination, brainwashing, etc...

It is the same for high school education as well. My freshman daughter (high school), can decipher just about ANY math problem, but because she does not follow the EXACT path to arrive at the answer, which the teacher expects/demands she gets marked incorrect.

At a parent/teacher meeting, she was able to demonstrate on the chalk board exactly how she gets to the CORRECT answer, nine times out of ten, but the teacher stated that because she did not follow HIS method, she was wrong. I asked him what does it matter if her thought process is different, so long as she is getting the correct answers?!?!?

So, having “highly” educated persons in a statehouse DOES result in a boned, bankrupt state?

Some of the worst Bureaucrats I’ve had to deal with were all educated far beyond their intelligence.

Given your description and providing she breaks no mathematical laws & algebraic rules to arrive at her answer. Your daughter is a potential real mathematician!
It sounds like she has the necessary gifts.
That should be nurtured!

Her HS math teacher by his statement demonstrates he is a NEA union slug and barely understand his subject!

Thank you, I do try to encourage her.
That's the part that gets me so dang angry! Instead of asking her how she sees the problem and works the problem, he simply marked her WRONG! I have been working with her and tell her to continue to do the work the way she sees it in her head - THAT is how you develop intelligence! Not by forcing her to do things your way!

And for being the best educated, does that mean California has the best, most effective, most efficient state government????? What does it really mean????

Unfortunately to get around this NEA slug she might have to conform a little bit and do things his way. Which means it could be double the work, doing it the moron's way & doing her way with her innate mathematics intuition. She doesn't want to be mislabeled by this mathematics ignoramus, that could lead to other problems with the K-12 educational establishment later.

Keep up the nurturing ! Sounds like you are doing it right.

And Regan said it best... “Well, the trouble with our liberal friends is not that they are ignorant, but that they know so much that isn’t so.”
