My problem with Lost is that in the “Church” where everyone was being held until they all went to heaven together was a stained glass window with the symbols of all the worlds major religions. Universalism is a false doctrine and the only way to heaven is through Christ.

Magnum PI was, and is to this day one of my favorite shows, I never really considered it politically skewed one way or another, but Magnum certainly was a rugged individualist and I could see him voting for Reagan. Not to get off the topic, but their were a lot of good PI shows on in the 80’s Simon and Simon and The Fallguy come to mind. Then of course their was Miami Vice, but it got a little too pop cultury at times for my taste

Tom Selleck is a real Conservative and an avid first amendment advocate - one of few working in Hollywood! By the way, work on the "their/there" thing when you get a chance!

How about Little House on the Prairie? In one episode, Charles Ingalls' (Michael Landon) daughter is desperately ill, so he takes her to the Mayo Clinic, where he's presented with a hefty bill. With no Medicaid or ObamaCare to lean on, he decides to earn the extra money working on a dangerous demolition project.

LOL! You sound like my editors. In my job as a utilities analyst, I compile information from both the engineering and financial divisions into comprehensive reports on projects to be sent to State and Federal regulators. I constantly get dinged for the their/there thing when I send my drafts up for review and editing. I understand the difference between the two, I just seem to have some sort of mental block when I'm cranking out a reply or report at top speed.

They had to be good, too (sorry, Hogan’s Heroes).

Hogan's Heroes was some of the most brilliant satire in the history of television. Just sayin'.

Magnum PI. Great show I grew up with. That’s one of my favorite of all time.

That’s because Adam (I’m not a Baldwin Brother) Baldwin is awesome.

All I can think of with Adam Baldwin is his "Animal Mother" character in Full Metal Jacket.

Just think - "there is a great looking gal across the street but her brothers suck and I think they're knuckle heads so I am not going over to their house." - At least I think that's correct!

“I dropped animation once I grew up.”

I always felt that way as well - but give South Park a few viewings (2 or 3) - it’s NOT a kids’ show! I really got hooked on it - extremely witty.

>>> The Andy Griffith show didn’t make his list.

Probably Floyd the Barber disqualified it. You know why.

““V” showed promise, but was axed.”

A show during that time that I liked even better which was also axed was Flash Forward. Couldn’t believe they cancelled that one :-(

I loved watching Magnum reruns late at night in the early 90’s - Selleck’s great (and he’s a lifetime NRA member :-)

“No more than Lionel Stander’s red ties and blacklisting made Hart to Hart Communist propaganda.”

Yes, and I really loved Hart to Hart - it was a take-off on the ancient Thin Man series.

Here’s a show I also was fond of that was sweet (and I identified with at that time in my life) - That Girl, with Marlo Thomas.

How about American Pickers and Only in America, both on History Channel? Educational (and fun) as well.

Star Trek—the Original Series

I don’t know about “24”—all the Americans were bad guys and conservatives in league with Big Oil.
