Today is the first day of the live thread. Speculation abounds surrounding the surprise one-day recess on Saturday. There is talk of a plea-bargain, discovery violation, witness tampering, and, God forbid, even a mistrial.
Today I heard some feel Chaney Mason may be withdrawing, that he doesn't like working with Jose Baez and is sick of the case.
I believe television coverage begins at 8:00 a.m. and the trial starts at 9:00 a.m.
I heard that, too. I thought it was the lawyers’ idea. Casey looked upset Sat. when she came out of the Judge’s chambers and I thought she didn’t like whatever was going on. Whoever’s idea it was, it didn’t work.
According to Fox 35, Casey Anthony, 22, and her lead defense attorney, Jose Baez, may have shared some intimate moments during jail visits.
Baez had been reprimanded in the past for hugging Anthony during one visit, which jail officials called social hugs. Some have told Fox 35 that during moments in court, Baez and Anthony may have been flirting with one another.
Anthony’s private investigator, Jim Hoover, is now telling investigators that on one occasion, Baez brought red licorice to the Orange County Jail. According to Hoover, Baez was sitting on one side of a piece of glass that had a hole in the middle of it, while Anthony was on the other side.
Hoover said, “…he [Baez] started eating on one side and you know, she [Anthony] was eating on the other side so it looked like they were kissing through the glass or something, you know…”

IMHO Casey's bizarre behavior upon learning her child was "kidnapped" indicates pure evil. Baez's attempt to blame this on Casey's abuse as a child just doesn't ring true to me. If she killed her little girl, there is absolutely NO excuse.

But she’s not wearing any makeup in court. Also, I think the lawyers can provide her with makeup and clothes. On channel HDL (I think that’s it), they have a court photo of her wearing a nice suit and looking professional. It looks so much better than the ill-fitting blouses she’s wearing every day. I’m only saying this from the Defense’s point of view; why have her look slovenly?
Did you see Dominic Casey’s testimony yesterday? The man is a complete headcase.
This is a public forum to discuss current events - not a jury. Most of the freepers here are reasonable people. If you really want to see a group out for blood, go to “Casey Anthony” on Facebook. They follow the case much more closely than we do and they really want justice for Caylee!
I expect better from FReepers than I do the general population, though. As you said, this forum is for discussion, silly questions are just that.
