I'm slowly learning the Mac but out here in the woods, it's tedious... Take a look at this page.
http://www.apple.com/findouthow/mac/
It contains short, simple video lessons on common Mac features. It makes learning Mac basics and the popular software programs (iPhoto, iMovie, etc.) really easy to learn.
I learned the basics and got started with video editing with iMovie in less than 3 minutes.

I’ve read some speculation that Lion Server may be headed towards offering local iCloud like functionality. Which i wuld like rather than having all my stuff transfered around in the big cloud. Don’t know, I’m just downloading the desktop at the moment.

Hodar. This is my big boy. He is the one that is joined at my hip. He loves surfing on the computer. Has a standard poodle girlfriend named Sophie down the street. LOL

I was wondering about that, but couldn’t find any mention of that.. Anyway, it’s no big deal for me to run over to the apple store.. Always fun..

Upgraded iMac & both MacBooks without issue this morning. Safari FINALLY seems to be running like a good browser should & I’ve noticed a speed increase in the opening & closing of apps.
Well worth the $29.99!

Does that seem right to you?

You need 3.47GB for the download, and about 3.5GB of free space to install it. Voila, 7GB of required install space.

Thank you and now if I can figure out how to back up files. LOL Step 1: Buy an external hard drive big enough to hold your data
Step 2: Plug it in
Step 3: Click "Use as Backup Disk" when OS X asks if you want to
That's it.

I am excited to get this done. I have to upgrade from leopard to lion. I’ve bought 2g new ram to add, but I don’t have the right little screwdriver. Once I get one I can try to do all this and give my 3 yr old iMac some new life.
If you back up regularly (I use super duper) that should be enough, right?

I bought the iMac for its photo handling system which appears superior to everything else I’ve used.
I use a Canon 60 D and have four pretty good lenses to play with. I’m retired and just like to fart around...

BEFORE YOU LIONIZE! Go to About This Mac, go into the Software | Applications section to get a list of all your applications. Click on the Kind column to sort by app type. Now make sure that you have no remaining apps of type "Power PC". These are the apps that will not run under lion.

If you do not like adjusting to "natural scrolling" the solution is simple:
Apple Logo> system preferences> track pad> uncheck "scroll direction: natural" back to normal.

Installed Lion OK on a Mac Pro.
Then tried installing it on a 2.53 GHz Intel Core i5 Macbook Pro with 467.93 GB free space -- and it kept balking, referring me here.
So, like, wtf.

The disk you are installing Lion on is a RAID volume
or
The disk has a non-standard Boot Camp partition setup, where further partitioning was performed after running Boot Camp Assistant, or the configuration that Boot Camp Assistant created was manually modified Do either of those apply?

No!
Or not that I know of. < |:(~
I'm just using the Macbook as it came out of the box, pretty much. No RAID, no Bootcamp.

Some one has probably answered all this for you as I slowly scroll down.
I updated this afternoon from Snow Leopard to Lion and it was a piece of cake. It first downloads a small app, about 700k, that handles it all for you. The 4G is RAM, which you need, I think.
