Are these ruins of biblical City of David?

Professor Israel Finkelstein, of Tel Aviv University, pointed out that the remains are not evidence of a powerful biblical state.

He said: "We are not talking about some great empire ruled from a wonderful capital, the way we look at Assyria in the 9th century B.C., or even the northern Kingdom of Israel in the 9th century B.C. We are here in a formative phase of the rise of Judah."

Finkelstein added: "Khirbet Qeiyafa does not make Judah a great empire with great armies."

Garfinkel argued that even if it was not the great empire of the bible, its existence is significant.

"What people try to do is say that the Kingdom of Judah didn't exist," he said. "What I am saying is that it existed. It's a small one, not so glorified as the Bible presented. But it doesn't mean there was nothing."

Thanks Renfield. Finkelstein's full of it, as always, with his stupid low chronology. "Oh, the City of David isn't Jerusalem, it's this previously identified fortress site. Notice how small it is? That's because the Bible is wrong."

The result: Finkelstein will be forced to posit another polity, apparently erased from Israel's collective memory, to account for Iron Age KQ.

Finkelstein is way too smart to make that move, although sometimes it takes brilliance to stretch and shape the data into compartments where it won't fit properly.

I would love to have had a tape recorder at the dig last week to hear him and Yossi discussing everything.

Isn't this fellow the one in constant argument with his colleagues over the dating of artifacts. If I am not mistaken
he even argued that a dated coin found in the ruins had somehow “migrated” to an earlier level after it was found
during the excavation of what was believed to be Solomon era
ruins. I remember reading about it in the Jerusalem Post
about a month ago but don't know how to find the article.
If someone could find it I'm sure it would shed more light on this.

It is taking me decades to come to many of the insights The Lord has so patiently offered. The meaning--in real life--of Grace in Christ for us is just getting a firm toehold in my psyche.

Finkelstein is a bad man, always standing in the way of the good guys, always casting a negative pall on true Biblical history.

He clings tightly to the minimalist line.

Definitely not the City of David. I don’t understand why people jump to such conclusions. Maybe it’s a desire to puff up the importance of their work.

One possibility for the location shown on that map is that it’s Gibeah of Kirjath-jearim. When the Philistines returned the ark of the covenant in Samuel’s time, it was kept at Kirjath-jearim until David brought the ark to Jerusalem. The location you show on the map would be a logical stopping point for the ark coming back from the Philistines.

" What is that scripture again regarding end times? ... Look here! Look there!’ ... ever learning, never coming to a saving knowledge. "

Unless they are exposed, influenced, and moved by the Holy Spirit, someone who has a bias and agenda to fulfill, that will follow through with their agenda to it's end and never receive the truth, in other words, they are lost, unless God intervenes.

" It is taking me decades to come to many of the insights The Lord has so patiently offered. The meaning--in real life--of Grace in Christ for us is just getting a firm toehold in my psyche. "

That's the whole point GOD was trying to make in the old testament in that man kind has failed, rebelled against GOD, sinned, and God set up his standards and laws, but that too, man kind has failed and God wanted to show us how sinful , wicked we really are without him.
He wanted to show us how lost we really are, the point is ? we can't do it on our own, we needed a savoir. We have to come to a point were we concede that we can't live up to his standards and we needed someone , the anointed one to do it for us, Jesus Christ.
Perhaps the reason why many don't want to accept the truth is because of their pride ?
Perhaps the reason why Finkelstein does not want to admit the Bible is right and correct is because he don't want to surrender the truth that he is wrong ?
Perhaps ? the reason why many don't want to come to the truth of Christ is because they don't want to humble themselves, and admit they are wrong, that they too can't live up to God's standards.
The knowledge of the truth ?
Grace and Truth came by Jesus Christ.
Jesus Christ said " I am the way, the truth, and the life, no man can come to the father but by me " .
The reason why some can't come to the truth of Grace ? it's because of their pride, they don't want to humble themselves and admit they can't do it, that they can't live up to God's laws and standards, so they continue to try to keep God's laws in their ignorance of the truth of Christ.
