'I created Obama's certification of birth'

When the White House posted online an image of President Obama's purported long-form birth certificate, it also linked to the previously circulated "Certification of Live Birth," the short-form version that had been presented as the only birth documentation available.

However, the short-form certificate to which the White House linked April 27 was a forgery, claims computer expert Ron Polland, Ph.D., who says he made the image himself.

My theory is they're both trying to sell unsellable books, so they got together and concocted this bizarre scenario knowing some people will fall for it. But even this may be a bit too much for some of the freeper/birthers.

That’s a a Composition fallacy.

A resolution saying person x has y history and so meets z criteria doesn’t mean that y history is necessary to meet z criteria. It only means that person x has that history and meets the criteria. Otherwise you’d also have to stipulate that natural born citizens are only those born on military bases, or even limited to those born on military bases in the canal zone, all of which is also in the resolution.

I looked through the presentation, and it is not very clear on the chain of evidence. For example, he takes an image (Exhibit 1) and then makes it 202% larger, removes color and rotates by a couple of degrees. Then the produced image matches the one that Obama published. This is fine.

However it's not clear where that Exhibit 1 comes from, aside from claims that he made that image himself. Does he have any historical records, like timestamped or archived emails, or something, that proves the origin of this Exhibit 1? This is a valid question; you know what they say about extraordinary claims.

IMO, the battle for the BC has been lost long ago, for many reasons. Not enough people in this minimally enlightened democracy give a rat's behind about legality of anything that happens in the government. This includes the legality of the President and unconstitutional laws made by Congress and supported by the judiciary. The populace just doesn't care. Many people simply don't have the intellectual capacity to understand any of that (but their right to vote is sacred.)

At this point Obama can be defeated only by his own policies - and he does everything in his power to defeat himself. He might be a "disposable President" who is installed for one term to do a specific task, no holds barred, and then he is set aside. Obama doesn't really like governing anyway.
