The left and their use of the DUMB card ( e.g. Palin & Bachmann are dumb )
8/17/11

Posted on 08/17/2011 2:38:55 PM PDT by sushiman

They used to say Reagan was a dunce ...Bushes 1 and 2 were stupid ...Quayle was an idiot because he spelled potato wrong ...Now I'm in an argument with a friend of a friend on Facebook whp says his cat has more brains than Palin and Bachmann , and that Hilary has forgotten more than they know put together ! What would you saud to this jerk ? I just can't ignore him . This was my latest response :

" Typical leftist modus operandi : use the dumb card ( or race card or whatever other card is at their disposal ) ...Reagan was a dunce they said...Quayle an idiot because he spelled potato incorrectly ...Bush was a 1 and 2 were stupid ...Now Bachmann and Palin are dumb ...So predictable ...Only the left have brains ...I see ...I see all too clearly ..."

Now stop. There is no reason to unfriend a friend because someone’s being an idiot in their Facebook comments.

Last night our local station asked the question, what would you put on the “Obama burger” and some of the comments weren’t flattering to Obama. Like usual... the liberals came in to berate the TV station for asking the question saying they had “set up” the situation so that people could criticize Obama. Some said they were going to “unlike” the TV station.

All the TV station did was ask the question.

Leave the “not being able to tolerate different views” stuff to the liberals.

I would ask the commenter if she/he has a law degree. Bachmann does ... you don’t get through law school if you’re really an idiot.

Tell her that the Democrats in the 57 states who voted for Obama are dumber than donuts.

You are dealing with a religion. Unless you get some cheap thrill aggravating them, don’t waste your time. They don’t want to know different.

As for Dan Quayle and the potato thing, Quayle’s not the one that misspelled potato. The word was misspelled on the cue card handed to him by a public school teacher. Quayle asked if the student should have spelled the word as it was spelled on the cue card. The Dan Quayle ‘potato’ issue is just another example of the many lies told by the libs and their facilitators in the MSM.

I don;t waste my time trying to re-educate the libs. I let them wallow in their ignorance. I put my efforts into reasonable people like here on at FR.

“What did hillary ever accomplish on her own (as compared to Palin)?”

Hillary Clinton got us into the Libyan debacle. Palin is not “smart” enough to accomplish that.

I believe Hillary failed the Bar exam in Washington, D.C.
3 times. That is reported to be the easiest exam in the U.S. because it does not include State law. She did eventually pass the Bar in Arkansas. Her rep is all PR bull__.

btw... I am listening to Avi Nelson, subbing for Howie Carr. It was Avi Nelson who was the Conservative, talkshow host pioneer.

However, he is now devoting practically a whole program ridiculing Michelle Bachmann for confusing Elvis's death day for her birthday. And you should hear the picayune crap he gives against Sarah Palin.

It is almost as if he sold out. It is not just Liberals that trash strong Conservative women.

Ever since the Dems hitched their wagon to Marxism - going back to Woodrow Wilson, at least - they’ve promoted the meme that their candidate is smart and sophisticated (because he supports Progressivism/Marxism) and the GOP candidate is a dumb hick (because he opposes progressivism/Marxism).

They used to say “a man is known by the company he keeps.” I just don’t keep the company of liberals, at least not more than I have to. It is rare that you can persuade a liberal because their “reasoning” is not founded on logic, but feelings and emotion. And you cannot reason with emotion.

Did you know that you can block just the friend?

I did that to an idiot and his elitist wife who are “friends” of my niece. I got so disgusted with their posts that I went in and blocked both of them.

I got the biggest kick out of a conversation I was having with my niece on FB. Suddenly, another niece came in and said, “Ooops, SOMEBODY was blocked.”
Turns out that the bimbo was seeing only my niece’s posts and asked if she was talking to herself.

I would have loved to see the shocked look on her face. To that generation, being “defriended” is a huge slap.

First, I'd begin by not appearing illiterate:

a friend on Facebook whp says

Whp? Really? You want to argue and you write "whp"?

that Hilary has

It's spelled "Hillary". I'm surprised folks aren't making fun of you.

What would you saud

Saud? Like the House of Saud? Saudi Arabia? What the hell are you talking about?

use the dumb card

Yeah, you've pretty much got that down.

I’d tell her that I assumed she was more well read and a better person than her turse reply. That I’d hope if I were running for an office that my credentials that might match Palin/Bachman, etc. would be “judged” equally with my opponent. Ask her to put up a nameless list of qualifications and desires and then compare them and see just who your friend really is...

When I do something foolish or with less than my usual good nature, I tell myself I am a better person than that remark!

Not sure whether either would be good as POTUS, but they beat the hell out of what we’ve got now.

But Palin is very accomplished. If she’s so stupid, how is it possible that she’s managed to make a killing, financially, with various efforts over the last couple of years? And she was an excellent governor with many accomplishments, from most accounts.

Michelle Bachman, a wife, mother of five, foster mother of 23, businesswoman and tax attorney managed to win her Congressional seat and has beat out a bunch of Republicans in this Iowa straw poll. More than most of us could do in ten lifetimes, I think.

I, too, have a friend who is attacking Bachmann today (but she’s attacked Palin in the past). She’s accomplished little in her life, so I’m guessing she’s envious of these two accomplished, conservative women. I would just play up what these two have done with their lives and try to contrast what your friend has done with his. I’m sure he’ll come up “short”, so to speak.

I admit to not being too up on Facebook. I'm involved but spend little-to-no time there. But If this individual is on sushiman's back, it's likely because sushiman is having political discussion with his friend and the other guy (?) is getting involved. If the friend's friend is behaving badly and upsetting sushiman, then the friend should intervene. If not, the friend is no friend. And there's your reason for un-friending a friend.

In a leftists world brains and beauty is an either/or attribute and they refuse to recognize that they are of the neither/nor persuasion.

So if the cat is that smart, why isn’t he/she rich? Seems you could put a smart cat like that to good use...unless the cat is smarter than it’s owner...which wouldn’t surprise me in the least.
