Thank you Amy. I know you always seem to be so busy. Much of my ‘busy-ness’ seems to involve the computer. I need to join an ‘internet withdrawal’ group, lolol.

Weekend coming up again so fast - hope you have a nice one!
Time flies......

Hi Pam, I’m doing OK. We all have our joys and trials in life - but what’s the alternative, lol. Nice to ‘see’ you.

Seems we are never online at the same time, Kitty. Thank you for that adorable graphic.

Praying for rain and cooler weather in Texas.

Have a wonderful Thursday.

Thank you for your Prayers, Dear Sister in Christ.
Rain is becoming So Rare Here that I've Almost Forgotten what it is like. :(
Hopefully the Autumn Rains will be Falling Soon on this Parched Place.

Freep mail me to be on or off the Daily Bread ping list

You Never Know
September 9, 2011

During my seminary years, I directed a summer day camp for boys and girls at the YMCA. Each morning, I began the day with a brief story in which I tried to incorporate an element of the gospel.

To help illustrate that becoming a Christian means to become a new creation in Christ, I told a story about a moose that wanted to be a horse. The moose had seen a herd of wild horses, thought them elegant creatures, and wanted to be like them. So he taught himself to act like a horse. However, he was never accepted as a horse because he was . . . well, a moose. How can a moose become a horse? Only by being born a horse, of course. And then I would explain how we can all be born again by believing in Jesus.

One summer I had a staff counselor named Henry who was very hostile to the faith. I could do nothing but love him and pray for him, but he left at the end of the summer hardened in unbelief. That was more than 50 years ago. A few years ago I received a letter from Henry. The first sentence said: “I write to tell that I have been born again and now, at last, I am a ‘horse.’ ” This confirmed to me that we need to keep praying and planting the seed of the Word (Mark 4:26) so that it may bear fruit one day.

You think your word or deed is very small,
That what you say will hardly count at all;
But God can take the seed that you have sown
And nourish it until it’s fully grown. —Hess

We sow the seed—God produces the harvest.

Read: Mark 4:26-32

For the earth yields crops by itself. —Mark 4:28
Bible in a year:
Proverbs 6-7; 2 Corinthians 2

Pain still about the same, said it could take up to 2 weeks to work....boo hoo, am tired of this inactivity, and not being able to sit for more than a few minutes at a time. Lying on your tummy is BORING, especially if there is nothing on tv worth watching. How many DIY shows can a woman watch when she ‘can’ get the remote from hubby who watches mostly sports, and cars.

LOL, Potlatch - ("internet withdrawal" group)

Here's a cute little jingle for you:

Cleaning Poem

I asked the Lord to tell me Why
my house is such a mess.
He asked if I'd been 'puttering',
And I had to answer "yes."

He told me to get off my fanny
And tidy up the house.
And so I started cleaning up...
The smudges off my mouse.

I wiped and shined the topside.
That really did the trick...
I was just admiring my work...
I didn't mean to 'click.'

But click, I did, and oops I found
A real absorbing site
That I got SO way into...
I was into it all night.

Nothing's changed except my mouse
It's very, very shiny.
I guess my house will stay a mess..
While I sit here on my hiney.

"Wear Red" Friday
You will soon see a lot of people wearing Red on Fridays. Here's why..... The Americans, who support our troops, are the silent majority. We are not "organized" to reflect who we are, or to reflect what our opinions are. Many Americans, like yourself, and all their friends, simply want to recognize that Americans support our troops. Our idea of showing our solidarity and support for our troops is starting Friday and continuing on each and every Friday, until this is over, that every red-blooded American who supports our young men and women, WEAR SOMETHING RED.

Word of mouth, press, TV -- let's see if we can make the United States, on any given Friday, a sea of red much like a home football game at a University. If every one of our memberships share this with other acquaintances, fellow workers, friends, and neighbors, I guarantee that it will not be long before the USA will be covered in RED - and make our troops know there are many people thinking of their well-being. You will feel better all day Friday when you wear Red! So let's get the word out and lead by example; wear RED on Fridays.

SUPPORT OUR TROOPS! WE LIVE IN THE LAND OF THE FREE, BECAUSE OF THE BRAVE. FOR US, THEIR BLOOD RUNS RED!! GOD BLESS AMERICA.

Wonderful story. It is God that calls us to him. I love the scripture in ...

James 4:8 “Draw nigh to God and God will draw nigh to you ... and

James 4:10 Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord and he will lift you up.”

How to start your day off and feel REALLY good:

Open a new file on your computer.
Entitle it 'Housework.'
Place it in the Recycle Bin.
Empty the Recycle Bin.
Your computer will ask you,
'Are you sure you want to delete Housework permanently?'
Answer 'Yes' and click the left mouse button firmly.
Now you feel much better.
