Can’t place the lyrics......

In Paris, the Gypsies try to beguile the unsuspecting tourists out of their moola. Quite annoying, really.

This thread beguiled me into spending a frustrating few minutes trying to think of how to use the verb in a topical sentence! However, I did enjoy the experience. :)

Obama attempted to use his last address to the joint session of Congress to beguile the American people for about the thousandth time into accepting his failed Marxist policies.

A ‘beguile’ is a cross between a beagle and a crocodile.

No, I heard of the Gypsy Wedding show when it inspired Kate Moss to get married. I wiah I could see the show, because the only time I see gypsies, they are begging on the subways or leaving trahed campsites near the train tracks.

I have contraband in my dining room! my dining room furniture is rosewood. Am guessing that it wasn't endangered back in 1985 or else we couldn't have afforded it. my bro is toying with buying a Gibson. his bday is next week and i said i would send him $ towards it, as a bday gift, if he was serious. Otherwise, i don't have any ideas on what to get him. I found a box of QUISP cereal up at the groc store in Syracuse, which i bought for him, bc i recall it being a huge fave of his when we were little and i haven't seen it in literally decades.

I have no problem with vendors. In fact, in France I saw a guy making baskets by hand, and I thoght, “good on you!”. In milan, it is just the music playing in subways, and they make the little kids walk around with a cup. once it was a “pregnant” girl. In Paris, it was pretty aggressive begging. Venice, the old lady just kneels on the ground like she is crippled. I am so over it.

no, i am with you. sales = legit. and honestly it applies equally to the dang little kids sports teams who ask for donations in front of the safeway etc. SELL SOMETHING, DANG IT> i will buy whatever crap you are hawking, but i am not going to GIVE you $ if you beg for it. i have told the parents that accompany the kids more than once that they need to sell stuff and not have the kids beg. it annoys me to no end.

Being here reminds me of why I like shopping in American stores — big aisles.

Nice tactical loss the Stillers took yesterday. After stewing on their playoff choke for 8 months, you gotta figure Baltimore wins yesterday. Might as well get all of your bad football out of the way. Beats playing well and losing the typical 17-14 game.

i am sure once hobbes wakes up, he will be at you with some goodnatured joshing about the game. Didn’t watch but my SIL emailed me about the hideousness of the play, and Ben’s 3 interceptions. I know my dearly departed dad would have turned the TV OFF, screaming they are playing DUMB BALL and stomped out of the room. He went nuts when they played badly.

Barack can bewitch and beguile
By tweaking each class warfare dial
But during last Thursday’s speech
He had a huge overreach
Which made republicans titter and smile

As Eve was beguiled by the serpent (wholly seduced by the shining one) so too Barry Soetoro aka Barak Hussein Obama II desires to beguile the American people by pretending to be one of us.

I’m not saying that Ben had other things on his mind, and I know that whole, run around for 7 seconds and chuck it down the field usually works out for him...

But, didn’t anyone tell him they were playing against Ed Reed yesterday?

It’s the principle of the thing. You are teaching $ for nothing, which is bad. I still go back to the FallS Church HS band and choir coming to my door to ask for $ to go to Europe. i was incredulous. We pay $$$$tuition and $$$ every dime for my kids on any team to do ANYTHING, and you want me to give you $ for nothing? EARN IT, for heavens sake. have a bake sale, carwash etc.
