melange; noun

a mixture; medley.

Etymology: 1645–55; < French; Old French meslance, equivalent to mesl ( er ) to mix ( see meddle) + -ance noun suffix ≪ Germanic -ingō -ing1

Rules: Everyone must leave a post using the Word for the Day in a sentence.
The sentence must, in some way, relate to the news of the day.

In the melange of nonsense which was the last debate, The obdurate "moderators" continued to roister in their abuse of the candidates. Only one candidate remained unflappable, answering trick questions clearly, with a raffish smile.

reading about Barry’s speech to the Congressional Black Caucus dinner, where he told them to take off their slippers and put on their marching shoes, it reminded me of that long ago statement by Earl Butz. Do you guys remember that absolutely jaw-dropping “joke” he told, which caused him to resign as Ford’s Sect of Ag? I wondered whether had a white politician told a black audience to take off their slippers if it would have been considered racist?
