Sometimes you get the bull, sometime the bull gets you.

Can’t exactly work up any sentimentality towards the matador, he knew the risks and still chose to still inflict brutal injuries on the bull for sport.

Have you ever seen a bullfight? The bull enters the ring....then a picador ( horseman ) comes out with a long pointed pike. He continually pokes the poor animal causing massive bleeding......then a bandoleer enters with barbed sticks which he then puts into the back of the bull....6 times!
The heroic matador enters to continue the torture.....this is sport?

Actually the matador inflicts no brutal injuries on the bull. That is left to the Picadors. They stab the bull in the neck so he has very little lifting power of his head and can usually only hook left and right. The matador merely uses the cape until he is ready to kill the bull using only a sword. It takes great courage to be a Matador. BTW, to the idiot talking about people who hunt for sport. Most hunters hunt for the meat and not for the sport. Hunting is a proud tradition handed down to us by our forefathers. What is the difference if someone kills their own meat of if they have some butcher kill the animal for them?

The difference is the hunter isn't a coward and kills his own meat. He doesn't hide behind a butcher and then tries to claim the high ground.

I've only been once, in Madrid. I didn't know what I would think. But the whole thing is awesome.
