Are you old enough to remember the phrase “Melting Pot?”

It wasn’t 100 years ago. I remember it. I remember in Montreal us Jewish kids fighting with the Italians and the Greeks and the other ethnic groups - some of which didn’t even have names! (sometimes but- sometimes playing together also), but because it was instinctive, not because the schools or politicians or anyone else was pointing out or ‘celebrating’ the differences. In fact, we all came together at times like Christmas - even a Jew like me! Because what we all wanted to be, what we all strove to be, were Canadians before everything else.

Honestly, I don’t know if it was politicians from the left or the right or both that started accenting the differences, so they could play on those - the start of a kind of class or ethic war, I guess. Whatever, the left owns it now, for sure.

You get it. Obama certainly doesn't seem to think that civil strife would be a bad thing. Fact is, he's doing everything he can to provoke it. Check out today's Drudge Report:

For God's sake, what is a proper response when the American President takes the side of radical street mobs against taxpayers and job creators... and goes on to equate that struggle with the civil rights movement of the '60s?

Ignoring it, minimizing it, or pretending this isn't happening won't work. Trust me: I've tried. There are some very bad times coming and we'd best face that fact, head-on.

Oh...please don’t get me wrong. If it comes down to it, I’ll fight. The statement by Mr. Mill is absolutely correct. I was just reminding people (like they NEEDED reminding..sheesh) that war is not a one-sided thing. As much as one side feels like they have superior skills and firepower, they are NOT immune from injury or even death.

War is sometimes necessary, but I still hate the thought that we’ll lose some good conservative people.

The protesters aka whiners held a rally in a downtown park in my old hometown of La Crosse, Wisconsin last Saturday. The metro population is over 100,000. You get more people for bingo night down at the senior citizens center then they got at that rally. Nice weather, low turnout. I suspect similar events disattracted just as many people in many cities across the U.S. Remember, many adults don’t even know there’s some kind of protest movement going on. They’ve got lives. They’re too busy working. The Big Football Game is far more important than hanging out with a bunch of Marxist wannabes milling around a park looking for a good time and little publicity.

"won't last long"

Wait until Mister Winter arrives in the north country in a few weeks. These filthy hippies won't last long. They'll be heading to Florida or California.

I respect your posts immensely, but I must inject that my friend Glenn doesn’t really know LDS inc background that well. Glenn could not recite what the White Horse Prophecy is, beyond what some LDS inc ‘adviser’ has told him in show prep.

Thanks for the kind remark and, I hope you are correct. I have wondered that as well. Just how much LDS doctrine does he know?

We are dealing with cowards. They will not "fight" honorable or head on. They will rationalize the use of improvised weapons and it will not be long before they use their warez on the innocent in all this. When people say "get ready"; the part many need to contend with is killing these vermin when they are found and not letting mommy say "but he's a good boy!". They will hide behind anonymity and become the homegrown terrorists all the while blaming Americans and America for their actions.

People say be vigilant and ready? I say NO Quarter and NO mercy for the communist filth that are ruining the greatest nation on Earth.

Hmmm, is Gary dressing better since getting involved with Harriet, or is he just a bit of a chameleon?

Gary has always been a Dapper Dan. He has other shell designs too, and he is doing his best to impress Harriet.

and boy, oh boy...THEY would have a surprise coming!
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

Really?....Personally, I don't know how the military would shake out.

Our very highest military leaders are brain dead stupid or willfully ignoring the fact that Obama’s eligibility is **highly** questionable, that Obama has multiple social security numbers, and that he has posted FORGED birth documents! Where is the evidence that they have peacefully sought clarification of Obama’s legitimacy as Commander in Chief from either congress or the courts? Hm? ( crickets)

We have a likely usurper in the Red House ( oops! “White” House) that has issued Rules of Engagement that have caused deaths of our brave and honorable military men. We now have homosexuals freely out in the open among our troops. Were are the resignations and protests from these highest military men? ( crickets)

When did ignoring usurpation of the position of Commander in Chief, election fraud, lying, deceit, false social security numbers, identity theft, and FORGERY become part of the military code of honor and part of the oath to defend the Constitution. Is **this** what they are now teaching at our military academies?

Honestly...I think our brave and honorable troops deserve better. And...I am not holding my breath that our perfumed highest officers will stand up for the Constitution. Hopefully, the lower level officers still hold to the Judeo Christian values of our Founding Fathers.

You don’t try to impress any ladies anymore? Your wife? Your mom? Tsk. You should try it again. It’s fun, speaking as the impressee!

My blessed Mother died in February at age 93. I’m not married anymore, and not dating. I’m sixty-six and enjoying singleness just herding the three cats around the place and indulging my hobbies of cooking and gunsmithing. I don’t even write much anymore.

God rest her soul. Its’ always hard to lose your mom, no matter your age or hers.

You are an eligible bachelor. You cook and are a gunsmith? Golden! If my two sisters were your age (they’re 10 and 12 years older), I’d send them both over to vie for you, LOL!

Aw, I’m just teasing you, of course. You sound as if you’re well and happy, so what more could you want?

Hubby and I are contemporaries of yours.

Czechoslovakia proved it could split peaceably and survive
No, they didn't. All that happened there is that they got transferred from one empire to another. The Slovakian government has fallen for the second time in five years, due to the EU's meddling (not that the EU treaties allow national governments too much autonomy anyhow).

So if you think the USA can split and its several parts remain independent and not subjugated by external forces, think again. Certainly neither alone will be a superpower.

"What are these ‘feelings’ you speak of? Isn’t that something wimmin have?"

You don't know? Perhaps you are only familiar with the "fear" of having feelings. Some less developed male personalities never get past that one.

Them and robots. Robots don't have much feelings either.

And if that response makes you angry, well then, there you go. That's another of those "feelings", I'm talking about.
