It's pretty evident that the winner of the nomination won't be the winner of these debates over all. In this day of Internet, face book, etc, the one who presents the best interactive media, as well as the most and the best TV ads, is the one who will win the nomination.

2/3 rds of the electorate is still busy doing other things right now. The political addicts and extremists are making all kinds of projections and assumptions and calling them fact, based on these low volume debates. But in the real world, the true picture will emerge and shock a lot of people here who believe that the rest of the world thinks like they do.

I can predict only one sure thing, which will be sometime in the middle of October next year, as well as who the nominee will be by July.

As far as who won the debates tonight or any of the previous nights? I would say that nobody won, since the agenda that will pick our next candidate for us, will have very little to do with who can BS better than all the others.

Newt - Kept his cool and answered questions succinctly.

Cain - Also kept his cool, answered most well, except for
his plan.

Bachman - did terrible, didn’t answer questions, shot herself in the foot with the women homeowners

Paul - is Paul. no change. hurt himself w/ cutting
defense.

Romney & Perry - were the same, terrible bickering with each
other. Romney is loosing his slickness.

Santorum - better, but not great. good on Latinos. Good on defense. Good job attacking Romney and Perry.

So, in order of best to worst:
1. Newt
2. Cain
3. Santorum
4. Romney
5. Perry
6. Bachmann
7. Paul

Whatta silly question.

Everyone’s favorite (prior to the debate) candidate won!

Cooper made the Pubs react in bickering as Newt pointed out. People watching might not have liked that but: the audience still seemed to think Newt, Perry, Cain, Mitt, Michelle, Santorum and then Paul. It seems in each debate, the real innovator and genius is Newt. Period. Perhaps Perry made some steps tonight. Mitt did not do that great and Cain kept his own. Newt is just the most brilliant solutions person the Pubs have. If he can keep his message clear and get some dough, he could get some early delegates to forestall Mitt, Perry and Cain.

>>> Romney and Perry didn’t do themselves any favors with their bickering. I was thoroughly expecting them to start sounding like PeeWee Herman.....”I know you are but what am I?”

Analyzing the debate from a purely Romney vs Perry perspective, Romney handed Perry’s ass to him in a used plastic bag after he ground it up like hamburger and deep fat fried it.

I was starting to wonder if Perry is not in this thing just to prop up Romney for the nomination.

No to Newt.

He earned his negatives. He has a history of betraying his friends and allies.

Newt won, but I am starting to appreciate Santorum a lot.

Although I like Herman Cain he is stuck on 9-9-9 to the point I feel he’s becoming a pitch man and we’ll start to see his ads for it squeezed in between a “Sham-wow” and “Ginzu” commercial on late night TV. Herman is having to back way or clarify too many things he says and that is wearisome.

Perry was petty at times, but Mitt was the pits all the time.

Depends on definition of winning. If defined as “who did themselves the most good...”

1. Perry - Brought some game, fought with the front-runner, squeezed in all his talking points. This debate will keep the money spigot flowing.

2. Santorum - Made enough noise that somebody may begin to notice him.

3. Huntsman - Got a chance to work on his tan.

The winning comment tonight for me - was Cain telling the OWS they needed to go protest Obama.

>>> Newt no longer lives in Georgia.
He lives in Great Falls VA or Potomac MD.

Are you saying that Newt can legally be the VP?
I really don’t know...

What are the residency requirements that nullify the constitutional limitations on POTUS/VP not being from the same state?

If you are right, and Newt can be VP, I would be pretty well convinced you will see him on the ticket with Cain.

You know, I didn’t give Santorum enough credit for his answer on “Why are you relevant?” I thought he did a really good job trying to make a case for himself. Considering his position in the polls, I thought he did a great job. He’s still not going to get the nomination.

I'd have to say Gingrich. He always does well in these debates.

Cain did well also and Perry and Bachmann were significantly improved over their past performances.

Ron Paul was his usual almost unhinged self, providing the comic relief.

Just my two cents.

“Who Won Tonights Debate?”

BARACK HUSSEIN OBAMA...

The candidates were cutting EACH OTHER apart, instead of focusing on the main problem, Obama’s disastrous reign, and his America-hating minions.

Not ONE question asked, or comment about, Fast & Furious, Solyndra, the Indiana Forgery Scandal, yada, yada.

Exactly as the queens at CNN planned it....
