LSU is a natural rival for A&M.

The SEC-bound Aggies have said they’d love to keep playing UT as a non-conference foe, but Longhorns athletic director DeLoss Dodds has said the school’s football schedule is full at least through 2018. That isn’t the case for all sports, but so far A&M has come up dry in scheduling future contests of any sort with UT.

“There doesn’t seem to be nearly as much interest from the other side,” A&M athletic director Bill Byrne said Monday.

Well, duh, Bill. What did you think would happen when you walked out on the Big 12.

Well it does say “goodbye to Texas University” in that completely weird war chant. It does sort of have a catchy tune tho.

After a couple of years, A&M won’t even care, while the Big 12 will fall apart, and Texas will scramble to find another conference.

“LSU is a natural rival for A&M”

Based on what?

LSU already has rivals in the SEC and has no need for A&M as a rival.

What the Aggies did not understand is that to be a real rivalry, both schools must feel the same way.

The Aggies saw UT as their major rival, but OU is Texas rival and Texas is OU’s rival.

And now that the Aggies have divorced themselves from the Big 12 they are discovering that divorce is final.

Yeah, or maybe Arkansas, but that gets in the way of the year ending AK/LSU rivalry. I don't know why they can't keep Texas as the last game of the season. Georgia plays Tech, Florida plays FL State, and SC plays Clemson.

Texas will not have to scramble as they are the top merchandizing school in the country and bring in the most cash. The Aggies are not even in the top 20 in merchandising.

Rivalries just don't depend on whether or not both teams are good. Yes, LSU and Bama is a great game, because both schools are good, but are they really rivals, like Florida and Georgia? A rival should be a school where, even if you only win one game, you want it to be against that school.

This is getting even weirder. Latest word this morning (from the New York Post) is that Missouri wants to bolt and join the SEC...and that the Big 12 is going to get West Virginia from the Big East to fill that hole. Talk about throwing geography out the window if West Virginia joins the Big 12.

The Aggies can already start booking their rooms in advance in Shreveport for years to come as the only bowl they will be going to is the Poulan Weedeater Independence Bowl. Maybe they can start playing Texas there?

With Houston going to the Big East....wouldn't it make more sense to have Houston in the Big 12?

Rumor had it that they were disqualified from PAC-10 consideration because of their tradition of guys kissing their girlfriends after touchdowns. PAC-10 rules required that the Guys would have to kiss Guys.

Ah, college football - where every team is undefeated or almost undefeated and in a bowl game - and where scheduling is apparently more important than actually being the better team.

When the Aggies show up in Baton Rouge or Tuscaloosa with these Cheerleaders in tow, the Aggies are going to get beat really bad.

That was offset by A&M's tradition of having an all male Yell Leader (cheerleader) squad, whose members squeeze their testicles on extra points and field goals.

And offset by "Squeeze 'Em, Ags!" in general.

When the Aggies start grabbing their nads in Alabama and Mississippi, the locals are going to think that the Aggies are a bit odd.
