Newt sold out by taking $300,000 from Freddie Mac in 2006-2007 in defending it from conservatives call for reforming it....right before Fannie and freddie were involved in the Finiancial collapse

He lives in Northern Virginia. Just saw him two days ago scrunched down in the car out in the parking lot waiting for his wife to come out of Michaels.

He's lived here some time. Ask Dick to see if he has Newt's addres, or maybe Mark. Those guys gotta' know.

I don’t think Newt can win general election. IMHO
However as VP i would be pleased with that. Cain first

Its not shocking. Newt Gingrich is supremely qualified to be the President of the United States. I am leaning that way also. I love Herman but I think he would be better in the second place on the ticket.

The good news is that the media has been through Newt’s ‘baggage’ for years and there is nothing left to find.

And as to the doubters, he might can sell his late conversion to Catholicism as showing a new-found maturity.

I knew the man when I attended West Georgia College in the early ‘70s and he always had a curious and sharp mind that was constantly at work. (I’d like to see what his opinion on Global Warming is now after the email leaks from East Anglia)

It would be interesting to have a genuinely intelligent President for a change.

I think you’re missing the point of that sofa ad. He sat down with the worst of the worst and used his clout to support their agenda.

This isn’t working together or reaching across the aisle. This is openly supporting their agenda to distribute wealth and control the population.

Better than Mittens, twisting with the wind. I have a hard time getting that picture of Newt and Pielosi sitting on the couch preaching about man-made global warming.

Newt knows how to play the game and if the media succeeds on destroying Cain then I could vote for Newt but I’d prefer Cain/Newt.

I don’t know how many Freepers are willing to get on the Newt bandwagon just yet, BUT I bet each one of them would buy tickets to see Newt debate Obama or Biden. That would be the the most one-sided debate in history.

I love Newt’s intellect, but I see him as secretary to the president, like sununu was to GB. Vice presidents are usually ignored, like biden. The last vice president that meant anything was chaney and he couldn’t stop bush from bargaining with ‘Ted Kennedy, the stupid son’!

Yes. I was talking about his daughter's story. I wasn't talking about the story being alive, I was saying the wife is still alive. I believed the story back in the 90’s because I didn't realize the blatant manipulation of the Libtard Media then. I was just wondering which other stories about him were fabrications.

Does he really believe in Climate Change/Global Warming? If so, that's ridiculous.

He is like a yo-yo on that issue. I went to a book signing once and a lefty in the crowd brought up the AGW issue. He said that instead if taking a counter position to argue the point that the right should instead engage in the debate by accepting the premise as a starting point. My jaw damned near hit the floor. It was only a week or two later that I remember in which he and Nanzi were in commercials sitting on that couch.

Newt may be a great historian but he is horrible on science & technology. There is a lot here but this link takes you to Burt Rutan's presentation on AGW at Oshkosh along with followups posted in pdf and powerpoint. The powerpoint has all of his presentation notes as well. This blows away AGW claims and I am very surprised that Newt does not reference it as he likes to do on other issues when he speaks of technical stuff.

Burt Rutan on AGW

If you don't know who Burt Rutan is, he is the designer and builder of the X-Prize winning Space Ship One. He is also the designer and builder of the commercial project funded by Sir Richard Branson of Virgin Atlantic fame.

And, so, the President is a Mathematician and the Vice President is an historian, with members of the cabinet who are CPAs, professional engineers, and rocket scientists.

I can buy that but it does look like "RULE BY THE ARCHONS"

Altho I despise Newts global warming nonsense and perhaps his stance on illegal immigration may be suspect as well, he absolutely kicked ass in the debates.

He makes a good 2nd choice behind Cain.

So you won't vote for Newt. Real smart. That's helping to keep O in office. There is no perfect candidate. Just vote for the guy running against Bama. It will be a monumental improvement.

Several months ago I could not stand the idea of a Gingrrich nomination especially after his dripple regarding the Ryan Plan. But now, Newt is the most obvious choice for this country. He’s also the one most assuredly that’ll whip the child’s ass

Can he overcome the destruction that Big Media rained down on him in the 90s?

Probably so. The more important questions for me are these:
- Can I overcome the scorn I felt for him on hearing his position on the anthropogenic vector of 'global warming' coming right on the heels of having written his geothermal energy paper?
- Can I overcome my opinion that he's an Establishment Republican committed to little else but preserving the existing order in light of his support of Dede Scozzafava in NY's 26th District race given that she, when her position became untenable even with the support of luminaries such as Gingrich, threw her own support to the Democrat in the race as she was bowing out?

If Newt is selected as VP, Obama will have to replace Biden. There is no way he will expose Biden to that level of embarrassment. Newt would cream him.
