I think many are giving Newt a second look, including me.
He’ll get his grilling, although unless something new comes up, it will be a lot harder for the LSM to make a lot of hay out of Newt’s record (personal and professional).
We’ll see how this develops.
What sermon? You are a confusing poster. I am having trouble following your reasoning process. Based on your posts with me so far, you will blame that on me. Fine. But if your design is to persuade, um, not working. You’ve made no substantive case against Cain whatsoever. And for me and many Christians, our faith and its principles trump any utilitarian analysis. Smartest guy in the room can’t win with us if we don’t trust a fundamental aspect of his character. That’s got nothing to do with sermonizing. Thats just basic living. People who break promises regularly can’t be trusted. It’s a reason I rejected Perry too. I am an equal opportunity critic of untrustworthy politicians. Sorry if that confuses you. Sheesh.
It matter who Sarah supports. Of all the big name media people Lettermen was the most vicious, the most vile and the most hated by Palin supports. A lot of folks seems to think Perry would get Sarahs' support. I think he hurt his chances by appearing on Lettermens' show.
Sorry for the confusion...
Perhaps I could be clearer...
I’ve found plenty to question Cain on even prior to the scandal... Another example - Go back and watch the Lincoln-Douglas style debate with Newt. Twice Cain had to take a pass when presented questions that required a little more there there than campaign slogans and prepared responses. It was painful to watch. That stuff isn’t going to fly when he gets on the stage with Obama and the whole nation is watching.
This scandal stuff only makes matters worse - justified or no.
I’m for Newt. Cain might be ok as VP. I’d rather have Gingrich/Rubio but Rubio says he wouldn’t accept nomination for VP slot.
Thank you for your opinion. Come next November we’ll see what you’re saying.
BTW I’m a Christian also. God didn’t just choose the most moral of people to do His work. You might take a long look at Paul, and Solomon and David. He is rather forgiving of human frailty. As far as I know Newt is faithful to his current wife. So, he failed in the past. The hallmark of a human being.
