I’ve spent my entire Black Friday with my 2 1/2 year old while hubby puts up the outside Christmas decorations :0) Wouldn’t have it any other way..

Got up as usual around 0800, then went to MC sports and got good deals on a Ruger LC9 and an Everlast speed bag kit.

My wife and children LOVE Black Friday shopping. I detest it.

They left home at 9:30 PM last night as stores started opening. I stayed home and relaxed.

They just arrived home at 10:30 AM (it is now 11 AM) and all went to bed happy.

My wife said the crowds here in our part of VA were much larger than last year. I hope it is true.

How could the old man be in the store before the 10:00 opening?

Thanksgiving weekend is the only time of the year that I go absolutely nowhere. I have all my errands done by Wednesday night and I usually don't start the car up again until Monday morning when it's back to work time.

During this long weekend, the last of the leaves get raked up, all the tools from summer/fall are put in the shed and the snow shovels come out. The yard gets winterized and the Christmas lights go up. In between, a lot of football, turkey sandwiches and beer gets consumed while the car sits in the garage.

What are those?

I have six kids and they look like they could be handy as the “board of education.” (I might want to drill some holes to improve air flow.)

But I can’t tell from the photo what they are supposed to be. Mirrors reflecting a dark ceiling?

I don’t have an opinion. Mrs. Liberty and I made the decision years ago that we weren’t going to leave he house on Black Friday. But we’re weird.

I can’t stand Black Friday and the hype about shopping and all that. And I am frustrated about stories about stampedes of people breaking down doors to get into the stores to get a bargain on this and that.

And this year, a customer at a Wal-Mart in L.A. pepper sprayed other customers to keep them away from the bargains she wanted.

It seems like it creates a bad atmosphere and brings out a rough crowd.

I hope to stay away from all shopping malls until January 4th.

I never do Black Friday shopping, partly because the kinds of gifts we give each other in our family aren’t the kind you get by going to the mall. But my son went out last night at ten and drove over to Walmart with his friends, just to see if they could get in and snarf up a few modest buys for Christmas. They couldn’t find a place to park, the lines were too long to bother parking a long way off and hiking in, so they came home.

There will be enough sales during December to do some wise shopping.

Same here. We've got our eye on a SONY 32' LCD, but figure the stores will get hungrier closer to Christmas, or perhaps even after, since it is for ourselves.

My drive in to work was smooth as well.

Normally, I take the bus but today I drove.

Just got back from a trip to Walmart, then Sams Club. LESS shoppers than usual. Less traffic on the road. No crazy stuff. We thought it would be this way this year.

My son went to Walmart late last evening for a snack attack, and he said the store had a ton of staff, but not a ton of shoppers.

I guess all the crazies are in the bigger cities, cause there doesn’t seem to be a lot of action here. :)

Maybe you could expand your product line :-)

(I suppose liability might prevent that.)

It was all about family for us. Nobody shopped. Great time...good food...love abounded! God blessed the occassion in every way.

My trip home about 9:00 this morning...little traffic...less than a busy weekend under normal conditions. Will be heading into the “zoo” for work later...am NOT looking forward to dealing with the animals...and they are that on this day.

I have to say if it weren’t for people shopping at these awful hours the employees who have to be there would have a day woith their families unencummbered by the animals the public becomes at this time.

I’ve worked retail for several years now...and the public is more than demanding...rude and inconsiderate is the norm..and that every day.

Well that encourages me that maybe the general public will stop shopping at this time and let the rest of us enjoy our weekend with our families as well.
