The Atlanta woman who says she was Herman Cain’s mistress for 13 years is a down-on-her-luck single mom who once sued a former employer for sexual harassment.
Ginger White surfaced in bombshell fashion on Monday, telling an Atlanta TV station that she’s “not proud” of what she described as long-running sexual shenanigans with the married GOP White House contender.
“I didn’t want to come out this way,” she said in an interview with Atlanta’s FOX affiliate WAGA-TV that put Cain on the defensive even before it was aired.
White described herself in the interview as a jobless former businesswoman. She is middle-aged, has two children and was evicted from her Atlanta home earlier this month, according to a background check done by the TV station.
WAGA reporters also found records showing she has been hit with several eviction notices in DeKalb County, Ga., over the past six years.
She filed for bankruptcy 23 years ago, the station reported. In 2001, she also filed a sexual harassment suit, which was later settled, according to the station.
Her former business partner, Kimberly Vay, once sued her and accused her of stalking, the station reported.
Vay, who did not respond to calls for comment Monday, also sought an order of protection against White, charging that she was bombarded with emails and texts “threatening [a\] lawsuit” and defaming her character.
A judge ruled in favor of Vay in a libel suit she had filed against White, the station reported.
White admits she has struggled as a single mother, but added that her financial woes shouldn’t define her.
“I don’t think that makes me out to be a bad person,” she told the station. “It makes me out to be one of the millions of people right now trying to keep a roof over their head.”
White said she ignored the fact Cain was married during their alleged affair, which she said included trysts in hotel rooms across the country. She says they met at a business conference during the 1990s.
“It was pretty simple,” White told WAGA. “It wasn't complicated. I was aware that he was married. And I was also aware I was involved in a very inappropriate situation, relationship.”
Cain, 65, who has been married for 43 years, went on CNN to deny the affair before White’s complete WAGA-TV interview was broadcast live.
His lawyer, Lin Wood, told the TV station that because White hasn't alleged harassment or assault, the matter doesn't belong in the news.
“The public's right to know and the media's right to report has boundaries and most certainly those boundaries end outside of one's bedroom door,” Wood wrote.
White said she came forward because she is upset over how Cain handled previous allegations that he sexually harassed four women, two of whom reportedly received cash settlements from the National Restaurant Association, where he was CEO during the 1990s.
“It bothered me that they were being demonized, sort of; they were treated as if they were automatically lying, and the burden of proof was on them,” White said. “I felt bad for them.”
Cain, the former head of the Godfather’s Pizza chain, was running near the top of the polls before the claims of sexual harassment broke.
Last week, Cain dropped to third place in a national GOP poll run by Quinnipiac University. He came in with 14% of the vote, behind ascendant former House Speaker Newt Gingrich and former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney.
He said Monday he would stay in the race as long as he had his wife’s support. But White put even more pressure on him, offering what she said was proof of the alleged hush-hush romance.
She gave the TV station loads of cell phone records, and Cain’s personal cell phone, which he answered when someone from the station called it.
She also gave the station’s reporter two books Cain signed for her. In one of them, his 2001 autobiography “CEO of SELF,” Cain added a little note: “Friends are forever! Everything else is a bonus.”
I doubt that Cain’s wife didn’t know about this. Things like this are probably why it took her nearly three weeks to come out with the ritual “stand by your man” statement after the first women emerged. But since she’s supposedly a Democrat, it’s probably not that big a deal to her.
All these things seem to have happened or started during the 1990s, when he was a powerful person at the Natl Restaurant Association and did have a lot of people seeking jobs or other favors from him. And all of the women were needy in one way or another, or at any rate vulnerable at that time (one of the women in the employment complaints was very young), so I guess you could say there’s a pattern.
I knew that when he started attacking and trashing them rather than responding to it honestly and with humility that some woman somewhere was going to get mad at that treatment and come forward on her own. And that is exactly what happened; Ginger White said she was mad at the way the other women were treated and she wanted to support them.
The things that brought Clinton down (well, except that he was saved at the last minute by the Dem Senate) started with a woman suing him for defamation of character because he had denied the story and trashed her and sicced his press goons on her and she got angry. You’d think that might have been an object lesson. But like Clinton, Cain has a massive ego, and people like that never learn.
Since her former business partner claimed she was stalked, I wonder if this woman is perhaps bi-curious??? Or is she just looney tunes.....
Absolutely nothing because every detail of his past would be hidden by the lame stream media and everyone with any knowledge of it would have already been killed by the democrat hit men.
As evidence, please find obama's real birth certificate (I've still not seen it), or school records, or baptism records etc.

The press already jumped so many sharks on this Cain vs women issue. I never thought they’d bring out a killer whale and raise shark jumping to a whole new level.
I think it speaks to a kind heart who may be naive when low lifes come to him with a sob story....
Imagine what this woman’s ex-husband will have to say about her, when he’s located.
Unfortunately that may take a lot of legwork. His name is John White, I believe. That’ll be a little harder on the pajamahadeen than, say, Jehosephat X. Schistosomiasis IV.

In politics we have to be more careful than that. In politics, often where there is smoke, there is a smoke bomb.

That's a very good questin since Cain claims that this woman was nothing more than a good friend. He should be a little more discriminating in the women he chooses to befriend.
Cain supporters will not be shaken because reality means nothing to them. Cain has no policies he can articulate, he understands nothing, he speaks in nothing but buzz-words, and he’s totally unqualified - but people wanted somebody they could see as the “Mr. Smith Goes to Washington” candidate.
Cain is obviously as good as Obama at leaving any inconvenient past behind. The fact that he was a lobbyist, part of a failed energy investment venture that ended with some of the money disappearing, a motivational speaker whose whole life is his personality and his ability to manipulate people, etc. never affects the image that he has tried to create of an innocent who can be the standard bearer for whatever position these people wish to project onto him.
Precisely because it is so personal, however, his real devotees will remain in place no matter what. He’s like Obama: you could tell them the truth and show them photos and they would instead merely swoon and faint because He was in the photo. But I think there were other people who may have foolishly put their trust in him and are now feeling used and humiliated. (Also, I think he has been behaving pretty cynically throughout this.)
I said at the very start that we have got to stop attaching ourselves to personalities and look at policies and competence. And worshipping a personality is setting yourself up for a terrible fall: as the Psalmist said, “put not your trust in princes or the sons of men...”

My first thought when I read this: “Oh wow, he’s really doing the silliness thread early this week.”
Then I became confused.
I realized this is not supposed to be silliness, yet it is sillier than most of the stuff you post on Fridays. WTF. What do we do when the silliness of reality becomes sillier than the planned silliness?
As for her background, if he has helped her financially over the years, does that make her a prostitute or his mistress? Cain seems to like losers...women who have $$$ problems.
I just heard a "Republican" talking head on CNN, say that this week Cain is on the road...selling books, not campaigning. Then talked about his campaign staff being unorganized...and called his POTUS candidacy "a farce," insinuating he's doing this to make money...said his troubles are taking attention from the serious candidates. I agree.
You even help them rationalize Cain's “motivations” behind these baseless accusations.

She actually does fit a "mistress" profile. A single mom "desperate for money" and with a poor work history would be the kind of woman most likely to take the job of being a mistress for an older married man willing to "help her out" in exchange for her discrete companionship. She would also be most likely to react badly to the cash flow being cut off due to her benefactor being too much under public scrutiny to be able to continue.
That said, I strongly doubt her story, for the simple reason that Cain seems too smart to go on the campaign trails with major skeletons in his closet, knowing that the Dems AND the Repub Establishment would have investigators all over his past associations.
I don't doubt that she's SOMEBODY's mistress. My question is, who's her real sponsor?

What I find most despicable is how many of the FREepers on this thread are so quick to employ the very same tactics that Clinton's 'Bimbo Eruption' squad employed against Gennifer Flowers, Paula Jones, Kathleen Wiley and that Dolly woman. These women are all being treated as sluts or nuts!! James Carvile and Betsy Wright would be proud of the Cainiacs. Disgusting.
There's a big pic of here at the FOX article. She's very unattractive. I would have thought that Cain could afford a cuter mistress if he wanted one.
