You're quite welcome, Jaycee! The song has always resonated strongly with me. I liked the movie and its portrayal of the military - the movie was made, IIRC, in 1953 - almost 60 years ago. You could never see its like out of Hollywood today. An earlier, happier era.

Those are the kind of movies and music that made us the people we are today. We never tire of seeing the movies or hearing the songs. I guess thats why they are so sentimental to me as they remind me of the “good old days.”

I was recently thinking of how I so enjoyed all the musical programs on t.v. in the earlier years with Andy Williams and family and Bing Crosby and family.....those were the things that brought Christmas to us and made us have that happy feeling. And all of them were glad to present the Christmas story.

One of my gifts to little Braelyn (who will be 2 in March) is a book with sound. Its a Charlie Brown book and they tell the story of the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes and lying in a manger. And at the end of the book, they all sing “Hark the Herald Angels Sing, Glory to the Newborn King”. I fell in love with that book and Braelyn already loves books.
