NY Woman Uses Dating Site to Get Over $1200 In Free Meals

A New York woman is being scrutinized and praised after people learned that she used a dating website to obtain $1,200 a month in free meals.

According to Business Insider, 23-year-old Jessica Sporty was deep in debt. Sporty had difficulties living on her $45,000 annual salary after spending nearly $1,500 a month in rent, paying her credit card bill, and buying food.

So she hatched up a plan and signed up with the popular online dating site Match.com so she could quickly go on five dates a week. Sporty even maintained a spreadsheet with detailed information on each of her dates, limiting each guy to a maximum of five.

Dates took Sporty to high-end New York restaurants, and one of her dates even bought her a $200 bottle of champagne.

“Before I barely had enough money to pay for food,” said Sporty. “After using Match.com I found I wasn’t going into debt anymore.”

-snip-

As of today, Sporty is no longer on the dating website as she is currently in a relationship and most likely freeloading off her new beau.

“It was exhausting,” she said. “I needed my sleep and I was done playing the game.”

"Howdy. For me FR was down all day."

It was horrible! I actually had to work on my chores.

The answer should have been to move away from overpriced-overtaxed NYC. She could earn a comparable salary elsewhere without a state income tax and half the rental costs.

Why is there even welfare in NYC? Should I feel sorry for the people who live in mansions in California on the coast and then lose them to mudslides or fires and they cry how they have lost everything because they couldn't afford the insurance on their deluxe property?

Move where you can AFFORD to live.

Hey, Thanks TC!

I went out in 13,939 out of 200K. I didn’t make any money, but I was happy I stayed in for so long.

Good morning! I was busy yesterday, anyway ;-). 50 and cloudy this morning. The children are bratty and the pets are scowling. We’ll go to the library later.

Reasonably clean, or at least it was a week ago ;-). And I do have some pink drink and pretzels, currently.

No, you didn’t miss anything - I’m just being chirpy, so I don’t dismember anyone or commit other armed mayhem.

We won’t get above 45 today, and there is a breeze, so I doubt I will go anywhere.

I have to try and muck out some papers that are taking up much needed space, but I’m not sure my brems are up to it.

My sister wants me to go to St. George (UT) with them for Christmas, but it’s going to be three days of rowdy mayhem with at least six families. I’m just not too sure I can deal with it, but she said she had already rented a car, just so I could go, but I don’t think I want to spend that much time with so many noisy people. *sigh*

My bad.

Busdaddy went to the Top Gear website and found lots of stuff sporting The Stig. I was hoping they would have a T-shirt that said, “The Stig is my son,” but the closest they came was, “The Stig is my dad.” Ohwell...

Thank you!

Not bad for an amateur. I managed to last a lot longer than some of the pros in the game.
