An economics professor at a local college made a statement that he had never failed a single student before, but had recently failed an entire class. That class had insisted that Obama's socialism worked, and that no one would be poor and no one would be rich, a great equalizer.
The professor then said, "OK, we will have an experiment in this class on Obama's plan".. All grades will be averaged, and everyone will receive the same grade so no one will fail and no one will receive an A.... (substituting grades for dollars - something closer to home and more readily understood by all).
After the first test, the grades were averaged, and everyone got a B. The students who studied hard were upset, and the students who studied little were happy. As the second test rolled around, the students who studied little had studied even less, and the ones who studied hard decided they wanted a free ride too, so they studied little.
The second test average was a D! No one was happy. When the 3rd test rolled around, the average was an F.
As the tests proceeded, the scores never increased as bickering, blame, and name-calling all resulted in hard feelings, and no one would study for the benefit of anyone else.
To their great surprise, ALL FAILED, and the professor told them that socialism would also ultimately fail, because when the reward is great, the effort to succeed is great, but when government takes all the reward away, no one will try or want to succeed.
Could not be any simpler than that. (Please pass this on.)
Remember, there IS a test coming up. The 2012 elections.
These are possibly the 5 best sentences you'll ever read and all applicable to this experiment:
1. You cannot legislate the poor into prosperity by legislating the wealthy out of prosperity.
2. What one person receives without working for, another person must work for without receiving.
3. The government cannot give to anybody anything that the government does not first take from somebody else.
4. You cannot multiply wealth by dividing it!
5. When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them, and when the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work because somebody else is going to get what they work for, that is the beginning of the end of any nation.
Please don’t “pass on” stupid chain emails about things that didn’t actually happen.
This has been posted multiple times before. Thanks.
But if you send it to 5 people, and they send it to 5 people, who send it to five people, you’re bound to receive $1,000!
This is the biggest urban legend going in chain emails and blogosphere.
No such event happened because no one can cite the school, professor or the corresponding outrage that would have hit the University newspapers or local papers.
This would have been NEWS somewhere and no one can ever cite where.
Sometimes I get emails, too.
It’s obviously made up folk wisdom, which, frankly, lacks wisdom. No one anywhere has ever implemented socialism as understood by this doofus “professor”, who should have instead presented real life examples of “socialism”, a corrupt system in every place that has claimed it.
Of course, it will have to be equitably shared among all 10,000 people who participated. Equality and all that.
Yeah he’s a genius but he’s a really old genius. I heard this for the first time forty years ago as an undergraduate.
But Prince Zulu from Guana promised me $10,000 if I gave him my account numbers.
I once passed this email along and woke up in a tub of ice with a missing kidney.
That’s nothing! Today, I got an exclusive offer from none other than Cristi Nanci to “Get BIGGER with free trial sample!”
Did this really happen and if so, when and where?
I'll probably pass it on regardless of its lack of specificity.
But this is the first time I saw it, so, "Thanks" is right...
God, I wish multi-post umpires would take a day off. I might miss the morning posts...I might miss the afternoon posts...so I DO NOT appreciate the 24 hour FR lurkers who feel compelled to tell others the first post is golden and can be the ONLY official post.
Heh... I usually get all of these spam emails, but this is the first I’ve seen this one.
It’s actually pretty good!
I got this one:
Finally...a Real Man’s Chain Letter!
This chain letter was started in hopes of bringing relief to other tired and discouraged men. Unlike most chain letters, this one doesn’t cost anything! Just send a copy of this letter to five of your male friends who are equally tired and discontented. Then bundle up your wife and/or girlfriend and send her to the man whose name appears at the top of the following list, and add your name to the bottom of the list. When your turn comes, you will receive 15,625 women.
At the writing of this letter, a friend of mine had already received 184 women, of whom four were worth keeping. This chain also brings good luck. One man’s pit bull died, and the next day he received a Playboy playmate. An unmarried Jewish man living with his widowed mother was able to choose between a Hooter’s waitress and a Hollywood super model. You can be lucky too, but DO NOT BREAK THE CHAIN! One man broke the chain and got his old wife back. Let’s keep it going, men! Just add your name to the list below.
