We need a candidate.
Is Newt Gingrich a good candidate?
When I look at others in the herd and barring a big negative disclosure unknown at this time, yes I will
I think you are right. The Washington insider peg is hitting him hard, as his past gets reintroduced to the electorate.
I wonder how much Christine O’Donnell’s endorsement of Mitt today had to do with Newt losing 20 percent. (Mitt is up 13 percent. I think Paul got the rest of Newt’s loss) O’Donnell was one of the first Tea Party favorites besides Palin, so I bet there is some confusion out there with that one.
For myself and many others, Perry is now permanently no sale. If you want him bad enough to try to push him even though much of his opposition will not vote for him even if he is the Republican nominee, then you may do so.
He has no more chance than Wrong Paul though.
Perry also backed off when the people wigged out about eminent domain. My biggest issue was the Cintra thing.
We know that something needs to be done if this state is to grow and remain prosperous.
You can fire him tomorrow, but we will get a bigger road, because it is needed for the commerce of the state.
How it is done is open to debate.
Yes
No, I will not vote for Newt Gingrich. He supports amnesty for illegal aliens.
not unless I have to.
“I will not vote newt in the primaries. But I will vote for whoever runs against obama.”
I agree totally with your second sentence, I will vote for whoever runs against obama.
The fact that he is a Global Warming fruitcake doesn’t bother you?
Yes.
My favorite four have been Bachmann, Santorum, Cain, and Gingrich. Cain has fallen out, leaving the other three. Of them, Bachmann and Santorum get stronger all the time. But Gingrich has a bite the others can’t match.
An example is his remark that the palestinians are an invented people. This is not controversial at all to most of us here, but everyone on the stage weaseled during the last debate and refused to back him up. No one was prepared to state what is literal and historical truth, which has to be understood if we ever hope to break out of the trap we’ve fallen into with the so-called “peace plan”. Gingrich out of all of them was the only one prepared to speak the unvarnished truth. Not even Santorum, who I otherwise like quite a lot.
Compared to who? O’Bummer? McRomnutts?
If I can have the Newt of Contract With America then yes but not this current version. I personally think he’s a bit unstable.
Fo Shizzle!
If it comes down to Newt versus Obama, It probably won’t matter much. The GOP establishment knows we’d vote for a wet sock versus Obama, and once again (imho), they are giving us an equally inspiring choice.
If Hes the Candidate against Obama Damn Right!!!
lol.
Well you just exposed the depth of your ignorance. Teddy Roosevelt created the Progressive party from the Bull Moose Party. They realized a third party couldn’t win so they decided to integrate into the two party system so that eventually we would have only one choice. To vote for a progressive.
This is what they call themselves...Newt called himself a progressive, etc...
It is all there right in the open you just have to open your eyes.
I think this is an election cycle that anything can happen. Congress is at an all time low on approval rating, no one really like BHO...people are finally getting educated about progressives, etc...
I think a dark horse could enter the race late and really turn things upside down.
I think establishment players that are up for re-election face a daunting task of getting back in this election.
He must become the nominee first. And I don't - particularly in the upcoming national election - waste my "vote" on a write-in.
But this I can guarantee to you...and all who might chance to read this.
Come election day, November, 2012 - if I am yet alive - I will, with firm step, resolute heart, and full intent, go into the voting booth and "vote" AGAINST the stain!
Does that answer your question?
Yup.
I would vote for any of the Rebublican candidates over Obama. Any of them. Not voting is not an option. Third party is not an option.
