Skip to comments. Will you vote for Newt Gingrich?

We need a candidate.
Is Newt Gingrich a good candidate?
I just checked intrade. He is NOT down 20 points.
Yes. I sense a real under-current of anger in Gingrich. I think he realizes he’s been a part of the problem and wants to undue some of it.
I don’t think he’ll use his election as a mandate for amnesty or global warming, even if he personally believes in aspects of these issues. But he needs to clear that up instead of thinking it a middle ground for votes. Although, to win, he may stay opaque on those issues.
I like him.
I had trepidation about the TTC as well but eminent domain for roads is hardly socialism.
I fact that is one of the things the founders said it was for.
Kelo Vs New London was nothing of the kind.
Newt Gingrich to be Republican Presidential Nominee in 2012
Last prediction was: $3.10 / share
Today's Change: -$0.7 (-18.4%)
You now 35 is woefully inadequate for Texas.
I’ll give it minimum 3 more days before I decide he’s peaked. It could just be a momentary blip.
Not after he endorsed BS Global Warming back in 2006 with Nancy Pelosi and Al Gore.
Not after he endorsed Dede Scozzafava back in 2009.
That doesn't mean I am voting for Obama though.
Like Red Green sez: if I have to, I guess.
You do realize the 31% figure varies from day to day too right?
In the primary? No way. In the general, A B O
If he’s the nominee, yes. In the primary, no. As much as I am delighted with Newt’s brilliance, vast wealth of knowledge and his awesome debating abilities, his policy inconsistency and his other baggage, both in private and public life are insurmountable obstacles to electibility. Damn shame, too, a great mind and a great talent to verbally thrust and parry, probably one of the best we’ve had on the scene over the last several decades.
Paging Jim DeMint. To me, DeMint is the only person I can think of that has the stature, the poise, the consistent values and ideas and the policy orientation to be a great candidate. I’ve heard him on talk shows many times and the guy is just always locked in on a solid conservative way of seeing every issue. He’s also not afraid to articulate exactly what he means or to criticize a huge phony like Obama. DeMint-Bachmann or DeMint-Santorum works for me.
Behind him is his worst nightmare in pink glasses and hooves!
I will have to vote for whoever is running against Obama.
Almost anyone who runs against Obama!
Newt’s NEVER been unfaithful to his country - Obama has been - - many times.
If Perry wins the primary, I’d vote for him without regret, but if Newt nails, yes, reluctantly, like I was the first time with Bush. Romney... never..no.
But a premise:
Dr Paul goes Indy as he is reported in the polls as capturing the youth. Libs not happy with Obama. Paul way over Newt if the youth actually get out and vote. Obama loses major targeted support of youth. Plus the Independents said leaning Paul, if we go by poll link.
Newt is considered old insider Republican and drives home the Conservatives.
So Newt will be running against Paul?
Obama is running against Paul?
As things sit today, I could vote for Newt.
Did you run? No? Then hush and pick someone who did!
John Bolton! I wish he would run.
Yes...I will vote for Newt
He’s better than Romney, also unpredictable and mentally undisciplined.
A supermajority Tea Party congress and state legislatures would be a good insurance policy against whoever is in the White House.
You know, if it had been only roads, it would have gone through.
When they included grabbing the corners at off ramps so they could own the land where gas stations sat, and when they added a big enough plot of land at the I10 intersection for an industrial park ... all land to be seized below market price through eminent domain I became part of the anti TTC reaction.
When the part about trucks and trains being inspected at ports in Mexico, and hen just waved through at the US border more people became involves, and the TTC struck an iceberg.
When it was revealed that there was also an agreement not to widen I35 no matter how bad we might need to do so as that would compete with the toll road, the slimy garbage barge TTC sank to the bottom.
Even after that, Texas DOT tried to resurect it until the legislature realized how toxic it had become.
It is not a bad thing if it reveals how bad a candidate Perry is. Some things deserve not to be forgiven, and this was one of them.
Need you ask?
Yes, I know how intrade works. Today was the biggest one day loss since his surge.
Well now them Mexican truckers have access to the entire US map.
Given the current field, I’m a Newt voter!
PS, It wasn’t Perry’s doing.
“Don’t trust him not to self implode.”
If you knew how to spell your own post name, I might put some stock in your opinion.
I’ll be watching extra close tomorrow.
Hi Randy,I would vote for Newt but it depends on who his backup man is.I like Santourm. What if he picks Romney?
There are three in the Republican field I will not vote for Huntsman, Romney and Paul all the others if they win the primary I would willing vote for.
That is so. I was on it for Thanksgiving from Dallas to San Antonio. Do both cities exchange their whole population that day? It sure seemed like it. There were long stretches where I didn't get past 40 MPH because of the traffic density, notably around Temple and Georgetown.
Not gonna happen. They hate each other.
If that happens, were all goners.
Yup, it sucks for a major artery of the state.
Yeah easy vote for Newt at this point.
I’m backing Newt but I’d vote for Mr. Bean if he could get rid of Obama.
Me too. I’m still trying to figure out why that happened today, but I suspect it’s closer scrutiny that happens to all the front runners. It finally caught up with Newt.
ANOTHER NEWT VANITY? God help us.
People have forgotten all the crap he’s pulled in the last 25 years. The attack ads are starting up and are reminding everyone. But I don’t think that would cause such a sudden change on intrade. I’m convinced intrade makes big moves based on people who have inside info and use that to their advantage when buying shares. If today’s move was based on some inside info, then it will become obvious tomorrow and the next 2-3 days because today’s sudden change will snowball...just like palin’s numbers dropped to zero 24 hours before she announced she was not going to run. I’d say there’s going to be a rash of important people endorsing candidates that aren’t newt...that is if this does snowball tomorrow.
:) Thay don’t hate each other and Newt needs Pa and a strong conservative on his team.
Only an anti-constitutional, big-government fool would vote for Newt Gingrich in the primary.
