Yea, my husband gets livid when I watch this “trash”.

I tell him that, since I’m watching another TV set three floors up from where he sits and watches television, that he should not concern himself with my TV viewing habits.

I have somewhat of a stressful life, and watching these shows kind of calms me down and unwinds me (along with a nightly glass of Merlot!)

Happy Weekend, My Friend!

John Lennon was an artist but he had some wild ideas about theology and peace, etc. Yoko Ono can't sing worth a damn.

I'm not rooting for either of them but Jessica has the chops and PP needs a lot of work to develop what he's got imo. He's so lazy trying to get some not high notes but I guess for him, they seem high.

Well, Lisa Marie Presley has a low voice but she’s consistent and I liked the spooky looking set she had. It was very swamp like and I can’t get enough of swamp atmosphere down here. Lisa could choose to do nothing she’s such a rich girl. Props to her for doing something - anything. She’s not a Kardashian in other words.

IMO, P2 has potential BUT imo, he’s a lazy singer and there’s a difference between mellow style and moments of laziness where he could try for more intensity in his mellow. When P2 sang We’ve Got Tonight, he was pitchy and it wasn’t that high. PP if he wins will have to step it up cuz lazy doesn’t sell no matter how “it” he may be.

Yeah, why can’t P2 do Ford commercials? I wonder what the blogophere knows about that? Some of the Hollywood blogs know that kind of stuff.

If Jessica WINS, what do you bet the first thing they do is send her to get invisible braces????? or veneers or something? Her teeth are not dentally correct for what she may about to be doing.

Whatever he is smuggling needs to be put on the ‘do not want list’.

Busciemi rocks. Boardwalk killed its first season. The second season was weird. It was like they decided, if you like anyone from season one, if there is any decency in any of the characters, we will remove all traces or just kill them. I fully expect the opening scene of season 3 to include fonzie, packing heat, jumping off the boardwalk over a shark in the water below.

Yeah, why can’t P2 do Ford commercials?

According to TMZ...

Phillip Phillips -- one of the finalists on "American Idol" -- has been URGED by his personal doctor to get surgery immediately ... but Phillip wants to work through the pain and the risk so he can win next week.

Multiple "Idol" sources tell us ... when Phillip went back home to Georgia last Saturday ... his family doctor spent almost the entire stay by his side and was alarmed by what he saw -- Phillip wasn't eating and looked horrible.

Phillip suffers from severe kidney problems and at the beginning of the competition it got so bad he had a stent put in as a temporary fix until he could have surgery. But the condition has worsened and Phillip's doc told him he needed surgery now. Phillip said he was not going to drop out of the show so the doctor told him he ABSOLUTELY had to go under the knife immediately after the finale.

We're told the recovery time for the surgery is at least 6 weeks.

Phillip's condition is taking its toll -- we're told the medication causes dry mouth, and it's had some impact on his singing.

Phillip has also missed some of the field productions that are shot for the show -- including the Ford commercials. Our "Idol" sources tell us they felt that making him go on location for these shoots were just too taxing.

Thanks, I was just going to post this. Amazing that he has been able to do as well as he has. I know from his audition video to now, he looks like he has lost weight and is not well.

Tried posting this comment on Yahoo but it got pulled. Not sure why. They allow all kinds of outrageous stuff to go thru...Guess you can tell I’m a Phillip fan..lol—”According to the geographic data on dialidol.com, Jessica gets alot of votes from states like Texas and California—probably alot of ethnic voting and Naval votes from her dad. She will probably get alot of pre-teen girls voting for her too. Also the dirty old man vote, those who enjoy seeing a 16 year old girl dressed like someone much older singing Mariah Carey songs about spending the night together.(Shame on the Idol producers.) International voters are also claiming on social media sites that they are voting using things like Skype. Team Phillip will have to vote early and often. If its even close, Idol producers will give it to Jessica because they want a female winner, not another WGWG. It will also justify the awful “save” rule. If its just about the voice, then Jessica would be good on a show like “The Voice.” Phillip has the “it”factor—artistry, musicality, humility. That’s what an “American Idol” should be.....”

Good summary. Thanks for the comments/opinions

Phillip has the “it”factor—artistry, musicality, humility.

Jessica Sanchez has artistry in spades, musicality most singers will never know, and so much humility that she couldn't believe she made it through to the final two. After she made the finals she said, "I have never in my life thought I'd be in this position. Thank you so much!"

She's a Navy kid who obviously couldn't afford to have her teeth fixed prior to the show. She has said that she has very few friends and that all she knows how to do is sing. She is shy, she's an object lesson in humility...and she's 16 years old with an astonishing gift, which could go to most teenagers' heads.

When she was saved by the judges and JLo grabbed the mic, she thought the reason they weren't letting her sing was because they hated her and wanted her off. She said this. Anyone suggesting otherwise is projecting their own duplicity onto an innocent.

It sounds like she meets all your criteria to be an Idol.

Suggesting that she's attracting the "dirty old man" vote is cheap-shottery at its most disgusting.

Imagine has a nice melody, maybe someone should try and do new lyrics to it.

I get what you mean about Phillips, but I am a little pleasantly surprised that such an off-beat kind of singer has made it to the final.

He’s not a healthy person, isn’t that correct? Doesn’t he have some kidney problems or something?

Is that why he hasn’t been in those Ford commercials lately?

I think we all got a kick out of his dad with his “open carry” shot the other day.

The tweens are voting for PP cuz he’s cute and non-threatening. They are voting for his hair style imo. Off beat singers have gotten pretty far before like that guy that did beat box. PP passed a kidney stone during the competition.

Yes, that comment was pretty harsh - cruel even.

Defending Jessica isn’t too popular around here, which is kind of a head scratcher for me. I don’t get it.

We were always told when raising a daughter, find something she really loves and give her every opportunity to shine, which seems to be what the Sanchez family has done. It worked well for us, too, and kept our daughter focused and happy. She now has a successful career doing what she loves.

Jessica obviously loves singing and is well on her way to being as successful as she can handle. It sure won’t be easy with all the temptations of fame and fortune, but I pray she says grounded.

`````````````````
He’s not our favorite out of the competitors, but we will give him major
credit if he passed a stone, and hung in there.
Having had that medical condition, it’s not one to be taken lightly.
Passed a kidney stone, received a temporary stent and will have surgery right after the end of the competition.
I’m not suggesting anything....even Jimmy Iovine criticized the way they were dressing her and the song choices. What was J-Lo thinking giving her that Mariah Carey song? You may think its a cheap shot, but the reality is that’s the kind of person who would be watching.....
Jessica has been singing all her life. She was on the first season of America’s Got Talent. According to her very professionally written and extensive entry on Wikipedia, she has cut a few songs professionally. I prefer the Carrie Underwood stories from Idol—that unknown plucked from obscurity to go on to a successful career. That’s what I see for Phillip. But his health problems may determine the outcome this week. The script for the season was for a female winner. Phillip will need 4-6 weeks recovery from surgery. Can’t have an Idol Tour without the winner. So since I have never seen an official vote tally for American Idol, the only business decision they can make is a win for Jessica.
