I received an email from my sister-in-law. Below is what she wrote.
I believe MD Anderson (Houston) is where Jeff Head went.
lysie, since she’s in Central NYS, either Boston’s Dana Farber or NYC’s Sloane Kettering would make sense. Either would have a list of its stomach cancer specialists. Prayers for her and the family.
The Mayo Clinic is great. Others are University of Chicago, Cancer Centers and Anderson. I love the team approach at The Mayo Clinic.
The book “Knockout” by Suzanne Somers needs to be read quickly by one of your family members. Please ignore the fact that she was a cheesy sitcom actress. The book is not really by or about her.
It’s chapter after chapter of the unsung heroes in the fight to heal cancer, MDs who are bucking the huge mainstream oncology dogma. It is a must read. It will open your eyes to treatments that improve her immune system, rather than destroying it. Cures that leave the patient healthy. How to keep the patient’s quality of life. When to go in for traditional chemo and when is it just a miserable waste of a good person’s life and health.
There are a lot of doctors listed in the back to contact too.
I would recommend MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas.
I live in Idaho and was diagnosed with a very rare, malignant and potentially terminal cancer in December of 2009.
We got with MD Anderson and I spent over 6 months down there in 2010. Their expertise and care, and a lot of faith and prayer, allowed me to survive.
Here is a Journal of my experience:

I would contact them via their webs site and self apply. Also talk to your doctor and get them to contact MD Anderson and send in all the MRIs xrays, diagnosis, surgery notes, etc.

If anyone can help...they can.
God bless and comfort you all.
Sincerely,

Prayers for a miraculous healing.
She needs to tell her doctors that she'll do anything to get better. She doesn't care how many chemo appointments she'll have; she doesn't care what she has to take. She doesn't care about throwing up, losing weight, her hair falling out, or surgery or scars. She'll take tube feeding, she'll take part in studies, she'll take anything and do anything to fix this.
She needs to make it clear that she doesn't care what she'll have to do. She needs to tell the doctors that she'd a fighter, and they they need to help her fight or suggest someone who will.
Doctors who say "incurable" need to hear that the patient is a fighter and won't take "no" for an answer. You might think patients wouldn't have to say this, but they do, and she should.
There are incurable cancers, but there are also doctors who won't go the extra mile for every patient because experience tells them that some treatments are brutal and hard to finish. Some cancers treatments have up to 1/3 of patients drop out.
http://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2006/04/060428140932.htm Almost 1/3 Of Colon Cancer Patients Stop Chemotherapy, Leading To Double The Death Rate
When my best friend was diagnosed with very aggressive stage 3C (right next to stage 4) cancer 5 or 6 years ago she was told that the treatments were very harsh and that many patients would not or could not finish it, particularly the huge number of chemo and radiation treatments.
She told the doctor that she was different, and that she'd finish anything he prescribed. And she did. She finished a chemo & radiation schedule that would drop healthy grown men to their knees. No amount of being sick kept her from her next appointment. Nothing stopped her, She's cancer free. It was not a walk in the park.
Make sure she does her all to give herself every chance.
We will hold you all in our prayers.
Sending Prayer.
Scientists cure cancer, but no one takes notice

lysie, my advice is don’t waste any time. My husband died a few months ago from cancer. We don’t know if it would have mattered but we didn’t look for 2nd and 3rd opinions and experimental treatment. We were so busy being sad that we let two weeks go by. He died two months after being told it was terminal. Even if you have a heart to heart talk with a naturalist, talk to somebody. Chose a clinic with a great reputation and go. Just go. If it’s money that would stop you, make a plea to your community for help. Just give it all you’ve got so you won’t have any regrets. We’ll pray for you. Please update to my freepmail.

Prayers for your sister and family.
This is a long ways off, and Durham is a liberal hole, but this is the best the Carolinas have:

Good luck and God bless.
People come from all over the world to go to MD Anderson Hospital in Houston.
Doing that will give her the best chance of beating it.
If there are money concerns, have her look into http://www.clinicaltrials.gov . Type in the name of the cancer along with the name of a city to see what’s available. She will still receive the standard treatment protocol for her cancer, but may also receive some additional treatments to see if it enhances success. My brother did this when he was diagnosed with colon cancer in his 40’s. Prayers for your SIL.
Thanks for that, Jeff. Yours is truly an amazing story of medical know-how and God given miracles.
The medical professionals I know here also recommend MD Anderson.
