Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker (R) is ahead in his likely recall election even as his campaign raises and spends millions of dollars in expectation of a tough race later this year.
According to a new Marquette Law School poll the governor leads Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett, a likely candidate, 50 percent to 44 percent. He leads former Dane County Executive Kathleen Falk, the only declared Democratic candidate, 49 percent to 42 percent margin, former Rep. David Obey 49 percent to 43 percent and state Sen. Tim Cullen 50 percent to 40 percent.
Democrats started targeting Walker last year, when he spearheaded controversial legislation limiting collective bargaining for public employees. Under Wisconsin law, Walker was not eligible for a recall election until January of this year.
Last summer, two Republican state senators were recalled for supporting the Walker legislation but Democrats fell one seat short of taking control of the state Senate. Four more state senators are being targeted in recalls this year along with Walker, as is Lt. Gov. Rebecca Kleefisch (R).
The poll of registered voters and voters who plan to register by election day had a large 7.0 to 7.2 point margin of error. Still, looking at these numbers its clear that while Walker has the advantage, this race will still be very competitive.
A November Wisconsin Public Radio survey found that 58 percent of voters supported a recall of the governor although that is a very different thing than a head-to-head matchup between Walker and a specific Democratic candidate.

Are you sore-loserman?
someone post that “HaHa” gif (LOL)
Big waste of money.
No. The Giants beat us good and I hope they win the Super Bowl and I hope Walker wins the Recall Bowl.
Will the black-robed tyrants allow the voter I.D. law to be effective for this election, anyone?
Has that ever stopped Democrats?
I would like to see Scott Walker as our next VP. He has boldly and bravely proven his worthy character.
After this is over, Wisconsin should pass a law requiring the organization requesting a recall election to post a bond for the cost of running the election. If they lose, they don’t get their money back.
I love it, and Walker. Let them sink their money into this useless activity. Less for the unions to throw at Obama in the fall.
LOL. I love it. Go Scott.

I'm a former Wisconsinite now in Mitch Daniels territory (Indiana) and your suggestion is great. What I like best in your present situation is that the unions will have spent zillions of their members dollars and will have accomplished nothing. The occupy groups that tore up the Wisconsin Capitol should be held responsible...I understand that many dollars went to them and they should be held accountable......wait a minute, did I just use the occupiers and the word accountable in the same sentence???? sorry, forget it!
Except for the fact that if they are liberals it is ultimately OUR money that is getting spent.
I really don’t like recall elections. We already have elections every 2 years. In Texas, our legislature only meets for 140 days every 2 years, so we don’t give them much time to make much mischief. We have over a year after the end of the legislative session to evaluate our incumbents before having an opportunity to vote on whether they should return to Austin or be replaced.
So you want him to no longer help the People of Wisconsin (Wisconsians?) and instead simply be the President of the Senate, with the only chance he would have to do anything constructive being if the President died?
No thanks. Let him continue to do the good job he's doing in Wisconsin.
I am not concerned only with Wisconsin. I am concerned with the entire country. Scott Walker would be a stable pick for VP. It will be up to the voter to weed the crusty Commies out of the Senate so that tahe VP will have success in restoring our nation once more to greatness.
