What model receiver do you have?
My 701 DVR has a pull down window on the front that has manual buttons inside.

All dish receivers have manuel controls on it somewhere, look it over.Sometimes its a "Ramon" control...

Dish is really THE WORST. The service itself is OK, but the whole billing/support stuff is awful.

I have Dish. Select is the same as power on. Try just turning your tuner on. Good luck.
