I'm with you. I think it won't take long for Santorum to be shown as a shallow thinker and that is why he is so focused on religion lately - he cant build a cogent philosophy to run on. He caught fire when he started trying to emulate Newt, but he blew his wad on a couple catch-phrases and this boost is temporary at best. Newt is the one the establishment fears and Santorum would be "acceptable" to them if they can't get Romney.
...when he fights. There have been several critical moments in this campaign where there was no fight in him and he got beat up pretty badly. Sometimes I'm not sure whether he's fighting for the American people or for simply better government.
IMO, the only one who would really fight for the American people and freedom FROM government isn't even in the race: Sarah Palin. She chose instead to fight for and protect her family. How can I blame her and yet how can I not be acutely disappointed?

Santorum has less baggage to turn off voters, but Newt has a solid record of being able to push a solid conservative program to completion, in the face of Democrat opposition.
And when onyx loses her patience, you KNOW the other poster is completely wrong.
You can’t go after Obama with a third party and you can’t take on Romney and the GOP-E by splitting the conservative vote. We all know this and we all must come to a logical conclusion based on all the background of history.
Sarah is stirring the pot and if anyone tries this guessing game as to what she is up to, you will most assuredly repeat the same head scratching scenes as the GOP-E did in Alaska when she knocked off the machine.
Everything she says has a tactical meaning and she consistently displays the traits of an ardent student of Sun Tzu.
I see by your handle that we agreed mightily when she made the announcement not to run. At first I was not sure who created the phoney bimbo eruption and took our ace out of the deck, but what has happened since leads me to only one conclusion, Romney PAC. I also think she has come to the same conclusion because of the way the same group of folks took aim at her the last few years to pave the way for their champion. But something funny happened on the way to the coronation, a Momma Grizzly roared.
With her also beginning to lay out the hits against Daniels in the talk about a brokered convention, the Sun Tzu “very unconventional” campaign looms.
We are limited by our lot in life to this and possibly other forums to make a change in what we are living under. The passion is great and frustrations of the current malaise doesn't help things.
With that said, she too is using her lot in life to make a difference to fashion the argument for what most honest people here would agree upon. The reason she became so popular is that she was one of those rare individuals who had "it" when connecting to the people.
So if you take our God given rights seriously, why in the world would you want her to stay out of anything. Just because her megaphone is bigger than yours, it is no reason to display a certain amount of that envy that is the butt of so many jokes.
