It’s just not the eating and no exercises..it’s what’s in these foods....I live in a town where there are so many morbidly obese people I just can’t believe it. PEOPLE...STOP EATING.

You are so right. There are so many things that are good for you in these foods that you put on the weight very easily. We are so prosperous a society that we have made the things that we crave (fat and sugar) and that are so hard to come by in nature, easy and cheap in our capitalist system. Plus, we have made hard work optional as we have become so productive.

Because of this, many people put on a lot of weight very easily

The British went metric a generation ago so why do they stick with this “Stone” business.

The British government went metric (under orders of the EU.) The people, not so much. And it wasn't a generation ago -- it was '96 or '97.

Canada went metric in the early seventies, but Canadians I know still typically speak of their weight in pounds.

liters = approximately a quart

squiggle+40 = 40 British pounds (not to be confused with weight in pounds, however that’s what the name is based on, no I’m not being a smartass) = about $75

takeaway = take-out food, but in this case it’s a certainty that she wasn’t the one taking it out, also it can mean delivered food
