I was reading that Niacin Vitamin B3 is good for promoting HDL (good cholesterol) which helps inhibit bad LDL. Also large doses of vitamin C and Fish Oil high in Omega 3 fatty acids are excellent for circulatory health.
I hate the statin drugs-get bad reactions.

i can’t take statins either. since last march i have been taking 2000mg niacin, 2 red rice yeast capsules, and a baby aspirin every night. i also take ibuprofen like candy. anyway, in the past year have lost 20 pounds, by being aware of what i eat (not really a diet more like knowledgeable choices and portion and snack control), exercising 3+ hours a week and all my numbers are great as is my level of plague. have prehypertension which is only a concern due to family history of heart disease.

I’ve read several books on the fact that “good/bad cholesterol is a myth.

I take 5 vitamin Cs a day but when I took a lot more it caused a kidney stone. Take two Krill oil a day, great stuff.
