100 year anniversary is upcoming, and this story still fascinates the public. I think it’s a story of man’s attempt to claim perfection while being shown that there are always better ideas on the horizon.

There were also reports of sub-standard brittle Rivits and brittle steel that was used in the construction of White Star Lines RMS Titanic.
There is a theory that she was on fire and that's why she was running flat out for port. If evidence of burning is found it would tend to support this theory. There is also some speculation that she had substandard coal due to a coal strike.

Out of the 1514 people killed on the Titanic, 693 of them were the crew. That leaves 821. Of those, 141 were Third Class women and children--not exactly likely to be industrialists. That leaves 680. By that claim, then, almost 90 percent of the men, women and chldren from First and Second Class, plus the men from Third Class, were industrialists.

The leading mass murderers of the last century were all socialists (with an honorable mention to the Turks for the Armenian genocide). Lenin, Stalin, Hitler, Mao and Pol Pot were all socialists.
Unfortunately Obama, Pelosi and Reid are all enamored with an ideology that in the last century, either directly or indirectly has killed probably a billion people.
The deficits Obama and the Democrats are running are worse every month. Anyone with two functioning brain cells should be able to figure out the end result here. We will have a national economic collapse. America is not too big to fail and the policies of Barack Obama and the Party of Treason are not simply wrong. They have one specific objective.
They want to destroy the American economy.
If the American economy is destroyed, they can remake America in to the kind of socialist hellhole that they think we should be.
The problem with socialism is not as Margaret Thatcher said that sooner or later you run out of other peoples money. The problem with socialism is that in order to implement socialism, freedom and liberty must be destroyed.
America is the greatest, freest nation on the earth.

It wasn't 600, obviously. But top industrialists and other wealthy men who were against Morgan and the Fed were indeed on the ship, and Morgan did cancel.
In the wheels-within-wheels category, the reason putting them on a sinking ship may have been chosen for their deaths (never an easy thing to do against the super-wealthy, let alone a bunch of them at the same time), is that the Wealthy Industrialist Cabal was already generally aware of the fact that the Titanic was going to be sunk anyway.
There's a lot of evidence that Titanic's sister ship, the Olympic, was fatally damaged in a previous human error NY Port collision that would NOT be covered by insurance, and which would scrap the ship - and bankrupt White Star Lines. So, after bringing it carefully, and slowly, across the Atlantic, it was put into the yard alongside the almost completed - and nearly identical - Titanic, and the names were swapped.
The "Olympic" was thereby re-created out of the new Titanic, and the "Titanic" was actually the damaged Olympic. The only thing left was to get rid of the damaged Olympic/Titanic. So an experience captain was brought out of near retirement for the "maiden voyage" and promptly ordered full speed through a known ice field at night, while he got drunk and went to sleep, waiting for the inevitable collision (probably to be made inevitable by a deck officer in on it).
Ironically, it was the high caliber of the watch that killed the ship by warning it too soon. Instead of hitting the berg head-on, which would have collapsed the forward holds but NOT sunk the ship, the side-swipe ripped open a long gash that enabled enough holds to fill with water that the weight distribution of the ship shifted, tilting it and filling ever more holds, and dooming it.
So the careful plan of cashing in the insurance (act of God instead of negligence) worked, but the claim of "unsinkability" was lost. And of course, knowing they were going to do this, putting the anti-Fed industrialists on board to drown was the icing on the cake. Which was itself duly covered up by being shocked, shocked I say, that there weren't enough lifeboats, and then passing laws requiring them in the future, and praising themselves for, of all things, looking out for people's safety.

In the simplest and most obvious possible way - the cover story for a group of highly influential men to get together and discuss this issue without the public taking any notice of the fact that they were doing it. The press would be all over any meeting of these people for any reason - anywhere else. You have to remember, the Federal Reserve was finally created in absolute secrecy, literally out on an island.
But on a ship, they could sit and talk for days and hash things out amongst themselves, in full view of other passengers, and all anyone would think was that they were simply sticking together due to their ultra first-class status. And that's probably exactly what Morgan pitched to them, too - before he bailed at the last minute and the ship sailed off without him - but with all of THEM already stuck on board.

And the Web, of course. In fact, searching the above books as they are referenced in web articles is a good start.
As astounding as the Olympic-Titanic name swap appears (just think of the audacity), it does bear up under scrutiny. Subtle things like the numbers of portholes, the extend of external promenade coverings, and the placement of external shear lines are clearly evident in comparison photos. And I read that now they've found eveidence of different letters etched in the steel of the submerged "Titanic" where the name letters have dropped off.
The important thing to remember, I think, is that the people who did this are the same people who created entire wars for profit and social control. Whacking a ship in order to murder renegades within their ranks in order to gain control over America's financial system was probably so trivial to them, that they had assistants handle it.
What's chilling is that the same mindset still controls the same "elites" today.

It was not “fatally” damaged. Otherwise it would’ve never made it across the Atlantic. And since when was it in an accident in New York *before* the Titanic?

But it wasn’t a long gash (old assumption myth) - it was a series of holes and apparently lower-quality rivets popped open from there.

I think the coal bin fire is considered fact. the question related I have seen is if the bulkhead was weakened and gave way under water pressure early on (don’t recall compartment numbers but the location makes this a possibility for a 5th compartment flood cause, iirc).
The rivet theory is interesting, but given the stress when the ship hit bottom, not sure how it could ever be established.
Unfortunately, it seems likely it will never be known exactly how the iceberg opened 5 compartments to the sea. The underground forward hull imaging didn’t show anything big enough to be visible there, iirc.
