Was arguing with some of them on a certain site (that I won't say) and they were telling me with dead seriousness that Obama will get reelected with 300 electoral votes. I believe this will be a close 50% vote election for whoever wins.
Even worse, these nutcases were actually going so far as to claim Obama is a centrist (!) and the Republican candidates are all extreme right wing fascist fanatics. All my efforts to explain that they're not anything but meek centrists were in vain.
Frankly, I'm bored as you-know-what about the whole thing and I really don't care who the Republican guy is that runs in the fall. Romney, Santorum, Gingrich. Doesn't matter. I'll vote for any of them if it gets rid of the Kenyan Klown.

I would say that conservatives are based in reality before they are based in reason and logic. Sometimes tradition doesn't know exactly why things work, but it prefers what works nevertheless. The accumulated wisdom of generations of experience often trumps the reason and logic of the moment. I think on many issues liberals actually do use reason and logic, but it is not a fully informed reason and logic, hence the almost inevitable unforseen consequences and blowback effects when they apply it. The real difference in liberals and conservatives is humility -- that is, the acceptance that reality is often bigger than our reason and logic. Conservatism respects the unknown unknowns in a way that liberalism in its foolish arrogance does not.

Better yet, they should be asked “If you think Obama is a weak centrist, why do you feel he’s worthy of your vote or reelection? Let alone to get 80% of the vote.”

Yes left wing liberalism is a mental decease because only people with psychological problems would passionately advocate stupid ideas and then do the opposite in real life because the stupid ideas that they are advocating are against human nature and hence they cannot abide by the foolishness they preach. For example all left wing liberals advocate higher taxes in the name of common goods but the SOB's try every possible way under the sun to pay less taxes.

One told me that Obama failed to produce single payer health care or stop corporations from controlling the political process. Although you have to remember when a liberal says “corporation”, it’s usually a code word for “Jew”.
They get all their news and opinion thorugh the networks from Media Matters and Center for American Progress, and various lefty websites. You might as well be speaking to them in Urdu, Hindi or Swahili!
